‘Erasmus na Gaeltachta’ – Scéim nua do mhic léinn tríú leibhéal

Tá scéim nua fógartha ag Rialtas na hÉireann chun deis a thabhairt do mhic léinn tríú leibhéal tréimhse trí mhí a chaitheamh ina gcónaí sa Ghaeltacht mar chuid dá gcúrsaí.

Tá an scéim seo dírithe ar mhic léinn atá ag déanamh BA sa Ghaeilge, nó mic léinn a bhfuil ard-chaighdeán Gaeilge de dhith orthu le post a fháil, go háirithe sa tseirbhís phoiblí.

Dúirt Aire Stáit na Gaeltachta, Seán Kyne, go bhfuil siad ag súil go mbainfidh suas le 175 mhac léinn leas as an scéim in aghaidh na bliana.

Beidh na mic léinn seo ag fanacht le teaghlaigh atá cáilithe faoi Scéim na bhFoghlaimeoirí Gaeilge.

Ach cé na ceantair Ghaeltachta is mó a bhainfidh tairbhe as an scéim nua?

Áit amháin atá ag súil le fáilte a chur roimh na mic léinn ná Gaoth Dobhair.

Cosúil le go leor ceantair iargúlta eile, buaileadh Gaoth Dobhair go holc le linn an chúlaithe eacnamaíochta agus tá an ceantar bánaithe cuid mhór ag an imirce ó shin.

Tá Gaoth Dobhair ar cheann de phríomhcheantair Ghaeltachta na tíre agus tá an teanga agus an cultúr fite fuaite lena chéile ann.

Tá ionad de chuid Acadamh na hOllscolaíochta Gaeilge, atá mar chuid d’OÉ Gaillimh, suite ann agus tá áiseanna ar ardchaighdeán á gcur ar fáil ansin do mhic léinn tríú leibhéal cheana féin.

Thug Meon Eile cuairt ar Ghaoth Dobhair ar na mallaibh le tábhacht na scéime úire seo a phlé le muintir na háite…
