Cáineadh déanta ag an NUJ ar ‘ionsaí pearsanta’ ar iriseoir a scríobh alt faoi acht Gaeilge

| Tuairisc.ie | ,

Tá cáineadh géar déanta ag an NUJ ar Ian Paisley Jnr as ‘ionsaí pearsanta’ a dhéanamh ar iriseoir as alt a scríobh faoin DUP, Stormont agus ceist an achta Ghaeilge.

Scríobh Paisley 750 focal ag caitheamh anuas ar Sam McBride, eagarthóir polaitíochta an Newsletter, nuair a foilsíodh píosa anailíse leis an iriseoir inar mhaígh sé gur túisce a ghlacfadh an DUP le hathrú ar an dlí maidir le ginmhilleadh ná mar a ghlacfaidís le hacht Gaeilge.

Dúirt McBride gurb amhlaidh go raibh sé oibrithe amach ag daoine sa DUP gur mó vótaí a chaillfí trí ghlacadh le hacht Gaeilge ná mar a chaillfí sa chás go ligfí tríd an dlí nua ginmhillte a tháinig chun tosaigh in Westminster.

Thuill alt McBride racht ó Ian Paisley Jnr a bhain siar as an iriseoir agus a spreag roinnt tráchtanna gránna ó dhaoine eile.

On Saturday, I analysed the possibility of devolution returning (https://t.co/rKuh3YCqNf). In response, DUP MP Ian Paisley has published a series of untrue allegations about me & brought into it my character & my school. A DUP Cllr has widened it to my apolitical elderly parents.

Cháin an NUJ ionsaí “míchuibhiúil gan údar” Paisley agus tá rúnaí an NUJ in Éirinn Séamus Dooley chun scríobh chuige chun míshástacht an cheardchumainn a chur in iúl dó.

Dúirt Dooley gur “iarracht shoiléir a bhí ann “dochar a dhéanamh do cháil ghairmiúil” McBride, “iriseoir coinsiasach”.

“Tá Paisley imithe thar cailc maidir le cad is dioscúrsa inghlactha polaitiúil ann agus tá ionsaí pearsanta déanta aige a bhfuil díobháil mhór ag baint leis,” a dúirt Séamus Dooley. Dúirt Dooley go raibh súil aige go n-aithneodh ceannairí an DUP ionracas McBride mar iriseoir a bhfuil a dhintiúir cruthaithe le fada aige.

Dúirt McBride go raibh a thuairim á tabhairt aige mar iriseoir gairmiúil.

I believe in robust free speech & people can of course dismiss my analysis (or even my socks) as wildly mistaken. But what I write is my honest professional – not personal – opinion. Sincere thanks to @Seamusdo, the NUJ & others for their support. https://t.co/3nkm5wjDMi

Cháin ceannaire an UUP Robin Swann Ian Paisley chomh maith.

Dúirt Swann “údar mór díomá é ionsaí pearsanta Ian Paisley Junior ar Sam McBride” agus go raibh sé “truamhéalach” ag daoine eile tuismitheoirí an iriseora a tharraingt isteach sa scéal ar na meáin shóisialta.
