‘Ceathrú Chultúrtha’ ar na bacáin i nDoire

Rinneadh céiliúradh speisialta i gCultúrlann Uí Chanáin, Cathair Dhoire, ar na maillibh ar na 10 mbliana atá imithe ó osclaíodh an Chultúrlann ar Mhórshráid Shéamais i gcroílár na cathrach.

Tháinig idir phobal na Gaeilge agus chuairteoirí úra ina sluaití chuig ‘teach oscailte’ na Cultúrlainne chun ceoil, cultúr, teanga agus oidhreacht na nGael a cheiliúradh agus a bhlaiseadh den chéad uair.

Freastalaíonn breis agus 400 dalta ar ranganna Gaeilge sa Chultúrlann gach seachtain, borradh nach beag ar an dornán foghlaimeoirí a d’fhreastal ar na ranganna i seanáras na nGael trasna an bhóthair breis agus 10 mbliana ó shin.

Chomh maith leis sin, bíonn thart ar 1,000 duine óg ag foghlaim ceoil le hAcadamh Ceoil Chaoimhín Uí Dhochartaigh sa tSeaneaglais, suíomh galánta béal dorais leis an Chultúrlann, rud a chinnteoidh go bhfásfaidh an chéad ghlúin eile aníos le grá don chultúr traidisiúnta.

Léirigh an ‘teach oscailte’ an fás atá le feiceáil agus le mothú sa chathair anois agus dár ndóigh, de réir mar a mhéadaíonn líon na ndaoine a bhíonn ag freastal ar na himeachtaí, ardaíonn an t-éileamh ar spás chun an pobal a chothú.

Ar an ábhar seo tá pleananna curtha chun cinn chun ‘Ceathrú Chultúrtha’ a chruthú ar an bhunús láidir atá leagtha síos ag lucht na Cultúrlainne go dtí seo.

Tá an seanteach scoile anois molta mar áit chónaithe spéisiálta do mhic léinn atá ag déanamh staidéir ar na Ghaeilge in Ollscoil Uladh.

Deir muintir Chultúrlann Uí Chanáin go bhfuil sé mar mhisean acu níos mó spáis a chur ar fáil do dhaoine óga agus iad ag foghlam agus ag fás aníos trí Ghaeilge.

Go n-éirí go geal leo!
