Diúltaithe ag McHugh d’éileamh ar phlean don Ghaeilge ‘ón réamhscoil go dtí an ollscoil’

| Tuairisc.ie |

Tá diúltaithe ag Joe McHugh don éileamh go gceapfaí plean náisiúnta do mhúineadh na Gaeilge sa chóras oideachais go léir.

Léirigh pobalbhreith a foilsíodh an tseachtain seo go gcreideann 63% den phobal gur cheart polasaí náisiúnta nua a thabhairt isteach do theagasc na Gaeilge a cheanglódh le chéile gach leibhéal den chóras, ón réamhscoil go dtí an tríú leibhéal.

Tá a leithéid de pholasaí ar cheann de na móréilimh atá ag Conradh na Gaeilge.

Ach dúirt Joe McHugh an tseachtain seo nach raibh “aon phlean” ag a Roinn polasaí a thabhairt isteach don Ghaeilge “ón réamhscoil go dtí an ollscoil”.

Agus ceist Dála a chuir an Teachta Dála de chuid Fhianna Fáil Robert Troy á freagairt ag an Aire, thug sé le fios gur leor a bhfuil faoi chúrsaí oideachais sa Straitéis 20 Bliain don Ghaeilge agus i bPlean Gníomhaíochta Cúig Bliana an Rialtais agus nach gá plean náisiúnta do mhúineadh na Gaeilge dá réir.

“Sa phlean cuimsitheach seo [An Plean Gníomhaíochta] tá bearta comhaontaithe faoi cheangal ama chun polasaí an Stáit i leith theagasc na Gaeilge sa chóras oideachais a chur chun tosaigh ar gach leibhéal ón mbunscolaíocht go dtí an tríú leibhéal,” a dúirt Joe McHugh.

Dúirt an tAire go rabhthas ag dul i ngleic leis na “spriocanna go léir” atá ag an Rialtas i leith na Gaeilge ar bhealach “comhtháite agus comhoibríoch” faoin Straitéis 20 Bliain don Ghaeilge.

De réir pobalbhreith nua a rinne Kantar Millward Brown do Chonradh na Gaeilge, 64% den phobal a chreideann gur chóir an córas oideachais a leasú ar mhaithe leis an nGaeilge.

Seo an dara huair ag an Aire Oideachais Joe McHugh diúltú don mholadh go dtabharfaí plean náisiúnta nua isteach do mhúineadh na Gaeilge.
