FUAIM: ‘Bhain mé sult millteanach as’ – a clár deiridh curtha i láthair ag Áine Ní Churráin tar éis 40 bliain ar RnaG

Chuir an craoltóir aitheanta as Dún na nGall Áine Ní Churráin an clár Barrscéalta i láthair den uair dheireanach ar maidin agus í ag éirí as a post le RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta tar éis 40 bliain.

Ba sa bhliain 1980 a thosaigh Ní Churráin, as an Choitín i nGaoth Dobhair, ag obair le RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta sna Doirí Beaga i nDún na nGall.

Ba dhuine d’fhoireann bhunaidh an chláir irise Barrscéalta í, clár a cuireadh tús leis sa bhliain 1996.

Beidh eagrán speisialta de Barrscéalta in ómós don chraoltóir aitheanta á chraoladh amárach, Dé hAoine ag a 11am, tráth a mbeidh sí faoi agallamh ag Edel Ní Chuireáin,  Bainisteoir Réigiúnach RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta sna Doirí Beaga.

Ag labhairt di faoi na blianta go léir a chaith sí i mbun craoltóireachta leis an stáisiún Gaeltachta, dúirt Ní Churráin gur obair “iontach” a bhí ann agus go n-aireoidh sí an obair agus an chuideachta uaithi “go mór”.

“Tá páirt mhór de mo shaol caite agam ag obair anseo, agus cronóidh mé go mór é.  Thig liom an Raidió a fheiceáil ó mo sheomra codlata! Athrú mór a bheidh ann.

Áine Ní Churráin, 1980, ón nuachtán Amárach.

“Bhí am iontach agam ag obair anseo, ag obair le comhghleacaithe maithe, go leor acu atá anois mar bhuanchairde agam, agus ar an drochuair tá cuid acu atá ar shlua na fírinne anois.”

Tá súil ag Áine Ní Churráin go mbeidh deis anois aici tuilleadh ama a chaitheamh leis an ealaín, an ghrianghrafadóireacht agus na caitheamh aimsire eile atá aici.

Tá sí pósta ar Damien McKeever, agus tá ceathrar clainne orthu.

Chur Áine Ní Churráin @Barrscealta1 i láthair don uair dheireanach inniu. Thosaigh sí le Raidió na Gaeltachta i 1980. Craolfar clár speisialta le buíochas a thabhairt di ar maidin amárach.
