100+ cóip d’Fhoclóir Uí Mhianáin díolta in imeacht trí lá sa Siopa Leabhar

| Maitiu O Coimin |

Tá breis agus 100 cóip de The Concise English-Irish Dictionary díolta ag An Siopa Leabhar ar Shráid Fhearchair ó díoladh an chéad chóip de Dé Máirt, trí lá ó shin. Dúirt bainisteoir an tsiopa, Gráinne Ní Mhuilneoir, le NÓS go bhfuil orduithe fós ag teacht isteach go tréan don mhórfhoclóir nua agus go bhfuil sí ag súil le rabharta eile orduithe sna seachtainí amach romhainn.

“Bhí a fhios againn go mbeadh tóir ar an bhfoclóir seo agus daoine ag teacht i dteagmháil linn faoi ó thús na bliana. Thuig muid an tóir i bhfírinne nuair a thosaigh muid ag glacadh le réamhorduithe! Agus an saothar chomh mór agus atá, tógann sé beagán ama agus cúram é a phacáil, tá muid ag iarraidh iad a chur amach chuig daoine a thapúla agus is féidir linn. Tá cóipeanna ar a mbealach go Meiriceá, chun na Beilge, agus chun na Fraince, an tseachtain seo,” a dúirt an bainisteoir siopa le NÓS.

Tá go leor cóipeanna den fhoclóir díolta ag an gCeathrú Póilí freisin, an siopa leabhar atá sa gCultúrlann i mBéal Feirste, cé nach raibh uimhir chruinn ar fáil uathu agus an t-alt seo á scríobh. Díoladh dhá scór cóipeanna den fhoclóir an chéad lá i mBéal Feirste, agus éileamh seasta air ó shin.

31,000 ceannfhocal Béarla atá sa bhfoclóir, an leagan clóite den fhoclóir ar líne www.focloir.ie a bhfuil 48,000 ceannfhocal Béarla ann. Tá beagnach 2,000 leathanach sa leagan clóite agus meáchan 2.8kg ann.

Dúirt Gráinne Ní Mhuilneoir le NÓS go bhfuil sí ag súil le i bhfad níos mó orduithe sna seachtainí amach romhainn agus scoileanna ar an eolas go bhfuil an foclóir anois ar fáil.

“Tá scoileanna ag tabhairt faoi deara gur ann dó, agus orduithe eile fós le deimhniú,” a dúirt sí.

Ná dearmad gur féidir cur isteach ar chomórtas NÓS cóip den fhoclóir a bhuachan. Tá sonraí an chomórtais sin san alt seo.
