Bean Ghaeltachta le 340km a shiúl i 17 lá ar son Women’s Aid

| NÓS Suíomh Gréasáin |

Tá súil ag Aoife Ní Chiobháin, as Corca Dhuibhne, 340km a shiúl idir seo agus deireadh na míosa agus í ag bailiú airgid ar son an charthanais Women’s Aid. Fágadh Aoife, atá ina cócaire sa bhialann Solas i mbaile an Daingin, gan obair mar gheall ar an dianghlasáil agus thosaigh sí ag siúl timpeall na dúiche leis an am a mheilt.

Dúirt sí le NÓS gur theastaigh uaithi “rud éigint fiúntach” a dhéanamh agus í díomhaoin agus gur bheartaigh sí na siúlóidí laethúla a bhí sí a dhéanamh go dtí seo a thiontú ina n-imeacht carthanachta.

Chuir Aoife tús leis an iarracht inné agus é i gceist aici 20km a shiúl gach lá as seo go deireadh na míosa, nó níos mó más féidir. Beidh sí ag fanacht sa gciorcal cúig chiliméadar timpeall a tí ach tá sé i gceist aici siúlóidí difriúla a dhéanamh sa gceantar. Beidh sí i mbun na siúlóidí aisti féin – cé is moite dá madra Rosie a bheidh ina teannta gach maidin.

“Níl a leithéid déanta agam cheana, ach táim ag siúl 25km ar a laghad gach aon lá na laethanta seo, mar sin dúrt liom féin ‘caithfear bailiúchán éigint a dhéanamh leis sin. €500 an sprioc a bhí agam ach bhí an €500 agam sular thosaigh mé inné! Tá sé i gceist agam 20km a dhéanamh gach lá ar feadh 17 lá, sin 340km. Is breá liom a bheith amuigh fén aer, go mór mhór cois farraige agus tá suim mhór agam san aclaíocht leis,” a dúirt Aoife le NÓS.

Tá os cionn €1,100 bailithe ag Aoife don charthanas Women’s Aid, a chuireann cúnamh agus comhairle ar fáil do mhná atá thíos leis an bhforéigean baile, agus súil aici cur leis an méid sin as seo go deireadh na míosa.

Is féidir airgead a dheonú ar leathanach iDonate Aoife anseo, agus bíonn fáil ar oibrithe Women’s Aid 24/7 ar 1800 341 900.
