An áilleacht a bhaineann leis na Gaeltachtaí: Oileán Chléire

| fionnuala |

Aoife Ní Chrualaoich

Mar is eol do chách, tá na coláistí samhraidh ar ais arís i mbliana! Bhí siad dúnta mar gheall ar Covid le dhá bhliain anuas agus ba mhór an trua é sin. Ní ga dúinn a rá go gcuireann na coláistí samhraidh an Ghaeilge chun cinn i measc na n-óg agus fágann siad dearcadh dearfach i leith na ghaeilge agus an cultúr gaelach ins na daltaí.

Cé go bhfuil ár saolta beagnach ar ais mar a bhí roimh Covid agus tá níos mó roghanna againn maidir le taisteal, ná déan dearmad ar na háiteanna draíochtúla atá againn anseo inár dtír féin.

Déanann na coláistí samhraidh ceiliúradh ar an saol gaelach go cinnte ach ag an am céanna, taispeánann na cúrsaí sin dúinn cé chomh hálainn is atá na Gaeltachtaí in Éirinn; an tsíocháin, an nádúr galánta agus ar ndóigh, na daoine fáilteacha.

Oileán Chléire

An t-ionad glampála suite os cionn an chuain

Tugaim cuairt ar Oileán Chléire in Iarthar Chorcaí gach samhradh agus caithfidh mé a rá gur áit shuaimhneach í, lán le stair, oidhreacht agus siúlóidí áille. Tógann an bád beagnach 45 nóiméad ón mórthír (Dún na Séad) le radhairc dochreidte le feiceáil ar feadh an turais.

Bíonn beocht le brath ar an oileán go háirithe i rith an tsamhraidh leis an gcoláiste samhraidh, na tithe tábhairne, an ceol traidisiúnta agus an t-atmaisféar muinteartha. Is áit nua-aimseartha í an t-oileán seo leis an mol digiteach agus na faighneoga glampála. Ina theannta sin, thosaigh na hoileánaigh ag cruthú a jin féin le comhábhar galánta agus nádúrtha. Bheadh sé dímhúinte gan é a bhlaiseadh.

Turais

Na hoileánaigh ag iascaireacht

Cuirtear fáilte mhór roimh na cuairteoirí ar an mbád farantóireachta (Cape Clear Ferries) agus má tá fonn ort níos mó turais a dhéanamh, téigh ar thuras timpeall ‘An Charraig Aonair’. Is teach solais aitheanta í dar ndóigh. Fadó ba é an radharc deireanach d’eisimircigh Éireannacha ag fágáil Oileán Iathghlas Éireann chun dul go Meiriceá.

Is léir gur áit álainn í Oileán Chléire. Ní gá a rá gur mór idir an saol ar an oileán agus an chathair. Is deas an rud é a bheith in ann sos a thógáil ón saol gnóthach ar an mórthír agus am a chaitheamh ar oileán síochánta ag foghlaim faoin gcultúr gaelach agus ar ndóigh, tugtar seans dúinn an Ghaeilge a labhairt freisin. Ní hamháin sin ach níl aon rud níos fearr ná an chraic sa Ghaeltacht.

Caithfidh mé a rá, is léir ó na pictiúir thuas nuair a bhíonn an ghrian ag taitneamh in Iarthar Chorcaí, shílfeá go bhfuil tú ar saoire thar lear! Cá háit eile a mbeifeá?
