Comharthaí tráchta dátheangacha le crochadh i mBéal Feirste den chéad uair

Comharthaí tráchta dátheangacha le crochadh i mBéal Feirste den chéad uair

Tá sé fógartha ag an Aire Bonneagair i dTuaisceart Éireann go bhfuil comharthaí tráchta dátheangacha le cur in airde i mBéal Feirste ar bhonn píolótach.

D’fhógair an tAire John O’Dowd inniu go bhfuil comharthaí Béarla agus Gaeilge le húsáid sa gCeathrú Ghaeltachta in Iarthar Bhéal Feirste.

Déanfar comharthaí tráchta agus marcanna bóthair dátheangacha a chur ar Bhóthar na bhFál idir Bóthar Chluanaí agus Bóthar na Carraige Báine.

Dúirt an tAire gur áit “fhoirfe” í an Cheathrú Ghaeltachta don togra píolótach.

“Beidh na comharthaí tráchta agus na marcanna bóthair scríofa i nGaeilge agus i mBéarla sa cheantar seo gan mhoill, rud a bheas ag teacht leis an úsáid a bhaineann gnólachtaí agus eagraíochtaí eile sa Cheathrú Ghaeltachta as na teangacha seo. Creidim gur forbairt dhearfach í seo a léiríonn mo thacaíocht don Ghaeilge mar theanga bheo atá in úsáid achan lá sa phobal rathúil seo,” a dúirt sé.

Chuir Piaras Mac Alastair, Bainisteoir Tionscadail Fhorbairt Feirste, fáilte roimh an scéal go mbeadh na comharthaí dátheangacha á n-úsáid agus dúirt go raibh feiceálacht na Gaeilge san earnáil phoiblí thar a bheith tábhachtach chun an teanga a chur chun cinn.

“Tá áthas orainn, i ndiaidh stocaireacht a dhéanamh leis na blianta, go mbeidh comharthaí bóthair dátheangacha Gaeilge agus Béarla sa Cheathrú Ghaeltachta – an chéad áit riamh sa Tuaisceart,” a dúirt Mac Alastair. “Spreagfaidh sé seo feidhmiú céimneach na comharthaíochta dátheangaí ar fud an Tuaiscirt, áit a bhfuil an t-éileamh ar sholáthar dátheangach ag méadú i rith an ama.”

Deir an Roinn Bonneagair nach bheidh ach na comharthaí tráchta siúd a bhfuil an Roinn freagrach astu san áireamh leis an togra phíolótach seo. Is í Comhairle Cathrach Bhéal Feirste atá freagrach as comharthaí na sráidainmneacha agus deirtear nach bhfuil na cláir ar a bhfuil faisnéis phoiblí agus faisnéis turasóireachta laistigh de raon feidhme an tionscadail phíolótaigh seo.

Breis is 90 comhartha tráchta agus 35 marc bóthair a aithníodh i suirbhé a rinneadh mar chuid den togra seo.
