Irish Societies & Student Unions

The strength of the Irish language has grown in third level institutions over the past few years. This is due to the numerous events and campaigns organised by Irish Societies and Student Unions to promote Irish around the country.

Database of the Irish Societies

The Irish Societies are essentially Irish language clubs run by the students of third level institutes around the country, as well as in colleges abroad. You will find the contact details for the Irish Societies 2016/18 below.

Student Unions

In certain institutes, a person will be appointed or elected in the Student Union to promote the Irish language and to represent the university’s Irish Language Committee. You will find the contact details for these officers below.
