Athbhreithniú ar fheidhmiú na gcéad phleananna teanga Gaeltachta le foilsiú in earrach 2024

Athbhreithniú ar fheidhmiú na gcéad phleananna teanga Gaeltachta le foilsiú in earrach 2024

Is in earrach na bliana seo chugainn a bheidh an t-athbhreithniú ar fheidhmiú na chéad deich bplean teanga Gaeltachta réidh.

Dúirt Aire Stáit na Gaeltachta go mbeadh toradh na n-athbhreithnithe, atá ar bun faoi láthair, ar fáil faoi dheireadh an Mhárta 2024.

Fógraíodh i mí an Mheithimh i mbliana go raibh conradh aontaithe ag Roinn na Gaeltachta leis an gcomhlacht Barr Feabhais Teo chun athbhreithniú neamhspleách a dhéanamh ar na chéad deich bplean teanga a ceadaíodh faoi Acht na Gaeltachta 2012.

Is iad na pleananna teanga a bhfuil athbhreithniú á dhéanamh orthu ar dtús ná Cloich Chionnaola, Gort an Choirce, An Fál Carrach agus Machaire Rabhartaigh; Na Déise; Ciarraí Theas; Gaoth Dobhair, Rann na Feirste, Anagaire agus Loch an Iúir; Ciarraí Thiar; Conamara Láir; An Cheathrú Rua; Maigh Eo Thuaidh; Ráth Chairn agus Baile Ghib; agus Árainn Mhór.

Dúirt an tAire Stáit Patrick O’Donovan sa Dáil go raibh “teagmháil ghníomhach” déanta ag Barr Feabhais Teo leis na páirtithe leasmhara éagsúla agus go raibh comhairliúchán déanta go dtí seo le ceanneagraíochtaí agus coistí stiúrtha i seacht gcinn de na deich limistéar pleanála teanga atá á scrúdú.

Dúirt sé freisin go raibh sraith cruinnithe reáchtáilte ag an gcomhlacht le hÚdarás na Gaeltachta agus go raibh cruinniú ann le gairid idir Barr Feabhais Teo, an tÚdarás, Roinn na Gaeltachta agus Foras na Gaeilge.

“Is léir go bhfuil dul chun cinn á dhéanamh ag Barr Feabhais Teo agus é ag obair i dtreo athbhreithniú a dhéanamh ar na pleananna teanga ábhartha,” a dúirt an tAire Stáit.

“Cuirfear aiseolas maidir le feidhmiú na bpleananna ar fáil agus, bunaithe ar an méid a aithnítear san athbhreithniú, beifear in ann céimeanna a ghlacadh chun cur i bhfeidhm an phróisis pleanála teanga a fheabhsú”

An Teachta Dála Catherine Connolly a d’iarr an scéal is déanaí faoin athbhreithniú ar an Aire Stáit. D’fhiosraigh sí freisin cén fáth nach raibh plean teanga Chois Fharraige ina chuid den athbhreithniú ó tharla go raibh an plean áirithe sin ceadaithe roimh chuid de na cinn a roghnaíodh.

Níor thug an tAire Stáit freagra ar a ceist ach dúirt sé go mbeadh sé sásta bualadh leis an Teachta Connolly chun na pleananna teanga i gConamara agus i nGaillimh a phlé.

Bhí plean teanga Chois Fharraige ar cheann de na chéad trí phlean teanga a cheadaigh Roinn na Gaeltachta in 2017 faoin bpróiseas pleanála teanga ach níor cuireadh i bhfeidhm é go ceann dhá bhliain ina dhiaidh sin mar gheall ar easaontas faoi chúrsaí maoinithe.

Tá maoiniú €92,000 curtha ar fáil ag an Roinn don chomhlacht Barr Feabhais, a bunaíodh in 2022 chun an t-athbhreithniú a dhéanamh. An Dr, Mícheál Ó Duibh, iarPhríomhfheidhmeannach Chomhairle na Gaelscolaíochta atá i mbun an chomhlacht aistriúcháin agus comhairleoireachta sin.

Bhí sé i gceist ag Roinn na Gaeltachta féin tabhairt faoin athbhreithniú ar an chóras pleanála teanga sa Ghaeltacht in 2021 ach beartaíodh an obair a chur ar athló an uair sin de bharr phaindéim an Covid-19.

Ba iad na hoifigigh pleanála teanga féin a d’éiligh go ndéanfaí athbhreithniú neamhspleách ar a gcuid pleananna.
