Irish Classes for Adults
This article lists the organisations, officers, and institutions that provide Irish language classes for adult leaners.
Listed below are organisations and educational institutions that provide Irish language classes and courses locally, nationally and internationally. Note that many of the organizations below will have online classes, and/or classes in locations other than where they are listed here.
Some of the provided courses award certificates and diplomas in the language, or help prepare learners for the TEG (Teastas Eorpach na Gaeilge) exam. The TEG qualification is useful for those who want to improve their accuracy in the language or for those wishing to teach Irish in the future. TEG is recognised not only around the country, butthroughout Europe.
If you’re looking for classes or courses within a Gaeltacht or a town serving a Gaeltacht, it is a good idea to consult with the language planning officer in that area for recommendations regarding local language classes.
