2,396 cás de Covid-19 in Éirinn agus 35 duine básaithe

2,396 cás de Covid-19 atá deimhnithe anois in Éirinn, 2,121 cás ó dheas agus 275 ó thuaidh.

35 duine atá básaithe anois de thoradh an ghalair, 22 duine ó dheas den teorainn agus 13 duine ó thuaidh di.

Is ionann sin agus ráta báis nach mór 1.5% in Éirinn.

302 cás nua de Covid-19 a deimhníodh ó dheas den teorainn agus tá triúr eile básaithe.

De réir na bhfigiúirí is déanaí, 59 duine a bhí curtha in aonaid dianchúraim de dheasca Covid-19 faoi mheán oíche Dé Céadaoin seo caite. B’ionann sin agus 3.8% de na cásanna deimhnithe go léir. Sin méadú 26% ar líon na ndaoine a bhí curtha in aonaid dianchúraim i gcomparáid leis na figiúirí a tugadh aréir.

Dúirt an Taoiseach tráthnóna go bhféadfadh go mbeidh aonaid dianchúraim na seirbhíse sláinte lán taobh istigh de roinnt laethanta.

Údar imní ar leith líon na ndaoine a atá in aonaid dianchúraim de bharr an ghalair.

Dúirt an Taoiseach go raibh iarracht nár facthas a leithéid cheana ar bun ag oibrithe na seirbhíse sláinte agus iad ag iarraidh dul i ngleic leis an ngéarchéim.

34 cás nua a deimhníodh ó thuaidh tráthnóna agus 275 cás ar fad atá deimhnithe.

769 duine eile a bhásaigh sa Spáinn le lá anuas, an líon is mó daoine a fuair bás in aon lá amháin sa tír sin. 4,858 duine atá básaithe sa Spáinn go dtí seo de bharr an choróinvíris, an líon is mó in aon tír seachas an Iodáil.

8,000 cás nua den ghalar a fógraíodh sa Spáinn, ach dealraíonn sé go bhfuil an ráta fáis maidir le cásanna nua ag ísliú de bheagán.

Tuairiscíodh níos túisce inniu go raibh Príomh-Aire na Breataine Boris Johnson buailte ag an gcoróinvíreas.

D’fhógair aire sláinte na Breataine Matt Hancock chomh maith inniu go raibh an galar tolgtha aige.

Dúirt Johnson ar maidin go leanfadh sé air “mar cheannaire” ar fheachtas a Rialtais i gcoinne an víris.

Dúirt Johnson go raibh teocht ard aige agus nach raibh stopadh air ach ag casacht.

Fógraíodh ar maidin go raibh toradh dearfach ar an tástáil a cuireadh ar Johnson do Covid-19, an víreas a bhfuil an saol curtha bunoscionn aige ar fud an domhain.

Dúirt urlabhraí ó Shráid Downing go raibh siomptóim éadroma inné ar Phríomh-Aire na Breataine agus gur cuireadh tástáil air ina dhiaidh sin don choróinvíreas “ar chomhairle phearsanta” Phríomh-Oifigeach Leighis Shasana, an tOllamh  Chris Whitty.

Rinne baill foirne den NHS an tástáil ag Uimh. 10 agus bhí toradh dearfach uirthi.

Dúirt aire sláinte na Breataine Matt Hancock gur siomptóim éadroma a bhí air sin chomh maith agus go raibh sé ag fanacht amach ó dhaoine eile agus ag obair ón mbaile.

De réir na dtreoracha, tá an Príomh-Aire á choinneáil féin amach ó dhaoine i Sráid Downing.
