Tá lúchair mhór ar Phobail le Chéile gur aontaigh Scoil Cnoc na Naomh páirt a ghlacadh i gcomórtas ealaíne na scoile i mbliana mar chuimhne ar Mhanús Mac Laifeartaigh nach maireann.

Is é téama an chomórtais ná ‘The Sky at Night’. (An Spéir san Óiche)

Mar eolas: Ba as an Fhál Charrach do Mhanús Mac Laifeartaigh, a fuair bás ag aois 62 bliain i mí Feabhra 2017. Bhí aithne leathadach ar Mhanús ar fud a pharóiste dhúchais as a chuid díograis agus flaithiúlacht agus a chuid obair dheonach sa phobal.  D’obair Manús go deonach leis an togra Forbairt Pobail -  Pobail le Chéile ar feadh 14 bliana.

D’éirigh leis  cliú agus cáil a bhaint amach sa bhliain 1991 nuair a rinne sé teagmháil trí Radió Amaitéireach le spásaire de chuid na Rúise (Sergei Krikalev), a bhí ar bord an stáisiúin spáis “Mir”  (fad agus a bhí rudaí ag titim as a chéile sa bhaile - sa Rúis) Choinnigh siad i dteagmháil ar feadh míonna fada agus d’éirigh leo na ceannlínte náisiúnta a bhaint amach sa nuacht.

Ag cur píosa eile leis an scéal, dúirt Manús é fhéin ina dhiaidh sin gur a gcairdeas ón Radió Amaitéireach a chur tús leis an scannán Éireannach sin “Mir Friends”.
