Tomás Mac Ruairí ar shlí na fírinne

Tá duine de “fhathaigh ghluaiseacht na Gaeilge”, PT (Tomás) Mac Ruairí, ar shlí na fírinne. Bhí Mac Ruairí ar dhuine de na daoine a bhunaigh Gaelscoileanna Teo, ar a dtugtar Gaeloideachas anois, agus é ina rúnaí leis an eagraíocht sin ar feadh tréimhse. Bhí sé sáite i saol na Gaeilge le breis agus leathchéad bliain.

Bhí sé ina uachtarán ar Chonradh na Gaeilge ó 1998 go 2003 agus ina uachtarán ar Chomhdháil Náisiúnta na Gaeilge ó 2004 go 2010. Chaith sé tréimhsí eile ag obair leis an nuachtán Scéala Éireann agus leis an eagraíocht teanga Gael Linn.

Bhí sé ina bhainisteoir ar an scoil lán-Ghaeilge Scoil Neasáin i dtuaisceart Bhaile Átha Cliath agus bhí sé ina bhainisteoir deonach ar an scoil sin ar feadh ceithre bliana. Chaith sé 25 bliana ar Bhord Stiúrthóirí Fhéile Idircheilteach Lorient agus deich mbliana ar bhord Raidió na Life, stáisiún pobail Gaeilge Bhaile Átha Cliath.
