    Abair Amhráin
    Amhránaíocht le hEithne

Tar agus foghlaim roinnt amhrán i nGaeilge leis an amhránaí Eithne O’Mahony ó Ghaeltacht Mhúscraí. B’fhéidir gur mhaith leat amhrán a fhoghlaim ó oidhreacht shaibhir na n-amhrán dúchasach, nó b’fhéidir gur mhaith leat snas a chur ar sean-amhrán don chéad seisiún ceoil eile. Ní gá duit a bheith i d’amhránaí cumasach chun páirt a ghlacadh.

Come and learn some songs in Irish with singer Eithne O’Mahony from the Muskerry Gaeltacht. Maybe you want to learn a song from the rich heritage of native songs, or maybe you want to polish up an old song for the next sing-song. You don’t have to be an accomplished singer to take part.

Cad é Abair Amhráin? / What is Abair Amhráin?

Is ceardlann é le hamhráin Gaeilge a fhoghlaim agus a roinnt in atmaisféar spraíúil le háisitheoir Eithne O’Mahony as Gaeltacht Mhúscraí.

It’s a workshop for learning and sharing Irish songs in a fun, relaxed atmosphere facilitated by Eithne O’Mahony from the Muskerry Gaeltacht.

An gá dom a bheith i m’amhránaí chun páirt a glacadh? / Do I need to be a singer to take part?

Ní gá ar chor ar bith. Beidh Eithne ag múineadh as cartlann na n-amhrán dúchasach. Má tá aon amhráin agat, ba é Abair Amhráin áit iontach le hiad a roinnt.

Not at all. Eithne will teach songs from the rich heritage of native songs. If you have any songs you’d like to share, this would be a great place to do so.

An gá dom a bheith líofa i nGaeilge? / Do I need perfect Irish?

Ní gá duit a bheith líofa. Tabharfaidh Eithne míniú ar chiall agus fuaimniú na n-amhrán, agus beidh cuid acu macarónach (i.e. le liricí as Béarla agus Gaeilge). Cuirfidh an méid Gaeilge atá le foghlaim trí amhránaíocht ionadh ort!

No. Eithne will teach the meaning and pronunciation of the songs, and some of them will be macaronic (i.e. featuring both English and Irish lyrics). You’ll be surprised how much Irish you learn through the songs!
