Taighde nua Chonradh na Gaeilge seolta……

| Dáithí Anraí | ,

Tá creat nua monatóireachta curtha le chéile ag Conradh na Gaeilge agus ag Coiste um Riar an Chirt (CAJ) le measúnú a dhéanamh ar an dóigh a bhfuil ag éirí le comhairlí áitiúla ó thuaidh a gcuid dualgas maidir leis an Ghaeilge a chomhlíonadh.

Sheol Coimisinéir Teanga na Breataine Bige, Meri Huws, an tuairisc ar na mallaibh agus mhol sí do chách ar spéis leo cearta teanga an tuairisc a léamh ionas go mbeadh cur amach acu ar na dualgais ag ar ár bpolaiteoirí áitiúla.

De réir an taighde atá déanta tá ag éirí go measartha maith le cuid de na comhairlí ach go bhfuil cinn eile ann nach bhfuil ag comhlíonadh a ndualgas ar chor ar bith agus nach bhfuil siad ag freastal ar bhunchearta daonna maidir leis an Ghaeilge.

Bhí Ollscoil Uladh páirteach sa taighde agus dúirt an Dr Neil Comer ón choláiste go dtugann an tuairisc na huirlisí do dhaoine óga dul i ngleic leis na comhairlí áitiúla agus iad ag impí ar a n-údaráis áitiúla freastal ar phobal na Gaeilge ina gceantair féin.
