€820,000 fógartha ag Kyne d’ionad Gaeilge nua i nGaillimh

| Tuairisc.ie |

Tá sé fógartha ag Aire Stáit na Gaeltachta, Seán Kyne, go bhfuil maoiniú os cionn €820,000 ceadaithe ag an Rialtas d’ionad Gaeilge nua i nGaillimh.

D’fhógair an Seanadóir Kyne inniu go raibh an t-airgead ceadaithe chun naíonra agus áiseanna d’eagraíochtaí Gaeilge a fhorbairt ar champas Ghaelscoil Mhic Amhlaigh i gCnoc na Cathrach.

Freastalóidh an t-ionad nua ar thart ar 70 páiste réamhscoile agus beidh deis ag os cionn 200 páiste freastal ar sheirbhísí réamhscoile agus iarscoile trí Ghaeilge ann, a dúirt Kyne.

Deir an Seanadóir go gcuirfear fostaíocht ar fáil do ar a laghad 15 duine san Áras nua ar champas Ghaelscoil Mhic Amhlaigh.

Is léiriú an-mhaith í Gaelscoil Mhic Amhlaigh, scoil a thosaigh amach in 1993 le fiche páiste, ar an éileamh atá ar an scolaíocht trí Ghaeilge sa cheantar seo. Is acmhainn den scoth í Áras Mhic Amhlaigh do phobal na Gaeilge agus don phobal i gcoitinne,” arsa an Seanadóir.

“Le hairgead a bailíodh go háitiúil, tá tús curtha cheana féin leis an áis agus tréaslaím leis an gcoiste as a gcuid oibre chun an tionscadal seo a threorú. Táim ag obair le tamall anuas ar infheistíocht a fháil ó mo Roinn don tionscadal seo agus tá mé an-sásta leis an dul chun cinn atá déanta ar an ionad nua. Gan aon amhras tacóidh sé lenár dteanga náisiúnta agus tabharfaidh sé spreagadh di i gCnoc na Cathrach,  i mBearna agus i gCathair na Gaillimhe.”
