Seanadóir ceaptha mar urlabhraí Gaeltachta ag Páirtí an Lucht Oibre

| Tuairisc.ie |

Seanadóir atá ceaptha mar urlabhraí Gaeltachta ag Páirtí an Lucht Oibre a d’fhógair a mbinse tosaigh inniu.

Dúirt Conradh na Gaeilge gur trua nár cheap ceannaire an pháirtí Alan Kelly urlabhraí Gaeltachta sa Dáil.

Ceapadh an Seanadóir Marie Sherlock ina hurlabhraí gnóthaí fostaíochta, meán, ealaíon, cultúir agus Gaeltachta. Tá Sherlock ina haoire ag an bpáirtí sa Seanad chomh maith.

Tá beirt Teachtaí Dála a bhfuil Gaeilge acu ag Páirtí an Lucht Oibre, leascheannaire an pháirtí Aodhán Ó Ríordáin agus an t-iarcheannaire, Brendan Howlin, ach socraíodh gan cúram na Gaeltachta a leagan ar cheachtar acu.

Ceapadh Aodhán Ó Ríordáin ina urlabhraí oideachais, fiontraíochta agus trádála.

Ceapadh Brendan Howlin ina urlabhraí gnóthaí eachtracha, Breatimeachta, Tuaisceart Éireann agus dlí.

Beidh cúram na n-oileán ar an Teachta Dála Seán Sherlock a bheidh ina urlabhraí coimirce sóisialaí agus forbartha pobail agus tuaithe chomh maith.

Beidh ceannaire an pháirtí Alan Kelly ina urlabhraí sláinte agus míchumais.

Dúirt Julian de Spáinn, Ard-Rúnaí Chonradh na Gaeilge, gur trua nár ceapadh duine de na Teachtaí Dála sin mar urlabhraí Gaeltachta sa Dáil.

“Léiríonn sé nach bhfuil cúrsaí Gaeilge agus Gaeltachta i measc na dtosaíochtaí atá ag an bpáirtí. Guímid gach rath ar Marie Sherlock agus is maith an rud ionadaíocht a bheith ag an teanga sa Seanad ach is trua nár ceapadh urlabhraí sa Dáil,” arsa Julian de Spáinn.

Toghadh Marie Sherlock ar Chomhairle Cathrach Bhaile Átha Cliath i nGlas Naíon-An Chabrach den chéad uair anuraidh agus toghadh í ar phainéal lucht saothair an tSeanaid i mí Aibreáin. Iaroifigeach ceardchumainn í atá cáilithe mar eacnamaí.

Dúirt an Seanadóir gur onóir a bhí ina ceapachán agus go mbeadh sí ag obair ar an nGaeltacht a chur chun cinn.

It’s an honour to start work as @labour spokesperson on Employment, Media, Arts, Culture & the Gaeltacht.

I’ll be working to:

– protect & improve jobs

– strengthen workers’ rights

– promote independent, diverse media

– properly fund arts & culture

– ensure a thriving Gaeltacht pic.twitter.com/tXmY97TxhL
