an-bhratach-ghorm-bronnta-ar-11-tra-ghaeltachta

An Bhratach Ghorm bronnta ar 11 trá Ghaeltachta

Tá 11 trá Ghaeltachta i measc na dtránna ar bhronn An Taisce an Bhratach Ghorm orthu inniu.

Bronnadh an bhratach ar 93 trá agus muiríne ar fud na tíre i mbliana, níos mó ná aon bhliain eile.

D’éirigh le trí thrá i nGaillimh, trí thrá i gCiarraí, trí cinn eile i Maigh Eo agus péire i nDún na nGall an gradam a bhaint amach arís. Níor baineadh an Bhratach Ghorm d’aon trá in aon cheantar Gaeltachta i mbliana.

Tá an Bhratach Ghorm ar cheann de na gradaim is mó aitheantas ar domhan ó thaobh cúrsaí timpeallachta de. Leagtar síos critéir faoina ndéantar measúnú ar chaighdeán an uisce, ar an soláthar eolas agus oideachas comhshaoil, ar shábháilteacht agus ar bhainistiú na trá.

Chomh maith le Bratacha Gorma, bronnadh Gradam an Chósta Ghlais ar 13 cinn de thránna na Gaeltachta. Ba i nGaeltacht Mhaigh Eo a bronnadh an líon is mó de na duaiseanna seo – cúig cinn den 13 bratach a bronnadh sa Ghaeltacht.

Bronnadh Gradam an Chósta Ghlais ar cheithre thrá i nGaeltacht Thír Chonaill, ar phéire i gceantair Ghaeltachta Chiarraí agus ar phéire eile in Inis Oírr i nGaillimh.

Tugann Gradam an Chósta Ghlais aitheantas do mheithleacha a ghlanann an cósta agus na tránna i gcaitheamh na bliana. Bronnadh an gradam ar 63 trá ar fud na tíre.

Fógraíodh níos luaithe an mhí seo nach bhfuil droch-chaighdeán uisce ag aon cheann den bhreis is 20 trá Ghaeltachta a luaitear sa tuarascáil is déanaí ón nGníomhaireacht um Chaomhnú Comhshaoil (EPA).

Rinneadh tástáil ar 21 trá Ghaeltachta anuraidh agus d’éirigh le 17 acu an stádas is airde, ‘caighdeán den scoth’, a bhaint amach.
