Cinneadh déanta ag an Rialtas an ráta cánach ar chorparáidí a mhéadú go dtí 15%

| Tuairisc.ie | ,

Dúirt an tAire Airgeadais Paschal Donohoe tráthnóna go raibh sé ‘lánsásta’ go raibh an cinneadh ‘ceart’ déanta ag an Rialtas glacadh le comhaontú cánach an OECD

Tá a mbeannacht tugtha ag an Rialtas tráthnóna d’ardú ar an ráta cánach corparáide ó 12.5% go dtí 15% do chomhlachtaí a mbíonn láimhdeachas níos mó ná €750 milliún sa bhliain acu.

Chinn an Rialtas go nglacfaidís le comhaontú na hEagraíochta um Chomhar agus Fhorbairt Eacnamaíochta (OECD) an ráta cánach ar chomhlachtaí ilnáisiúnta a ardú go dtí 15%.

Dúirt an tAire Airgeadais Paschal Donohoe tráthnóna go raibh sé “lánsásta” go raibh an cinneadh “ceart” déanta ag an Rialtas.

Bhíothas ag cur agus ag cúiteamh faoin ráta seo le roinnt míonna anuas faoin athrú ar an ráta a mhaígh rialtais in Éirinn le fada an lá nach bhféadfaí cur isteach air.

Dúirt an Taoiseach Mícheál Martin níos luaithe inniu nach mbainfeadh an ráta nua le formhór mór comhlachtaí mar go mbíonn láimhdeachas níos lú ná €750 milliún acu.

Dúirt an Tánaiste Leo Varadkar go bhféadfadh go gcaillfeadh an Stát €2 billiún dá theacht isteach sa bhliain mar gheall ar an ráta nua 15%. Bunaithe ar an scéal mar atá a bhí an tuar sin, ach ní raibh ann ach “meastachán” agus ní fios d’aon duine cén caillteanas a bheidh i gceist, a dúirt Varadkar.
