‘Leanfaidh mé orm ag troid ar son na Gaeilge gach lá’ – Catherine Martin

| Tuairisc.ie | ,

Tá geallta ag Catherine Martin, Aire na Gaeltachta, go “leanfaidh” sí uirthi “ag troid ar son na Gaeilge gach aon lá” ina roinn féin agus ag bord an Rialtais.

Bhí leascheannaire an Chomhaontais Ghlais ag labhairt ag Ard-Fheis an pháirtí ag an deireadh seachtaine.

“Sé bunaidhm aon pháirtí Glas ar domhan acmhainní nádúrtha na cruinne a chaomhnú agus a chur chun cinn, agus tá an Ghaeilge ar na hacmhainní is luachmhaire atá againn,” arsa an tAire Turasóireachta, Cultúir, Ealaíon, Gaeltachta, Spóirt agus Meán. Mhaígh sí go gcuireann an Comhaontas Glas an Ghaeilge “i lár an aonaigh i gcónaí” agus dúirt gur “onóir as cuimse” a bheith ina hAire Sinsearach don Ghaeltacht.

“Is linne ar fad an teanga. Is cuma cá háit arb as duit, nó cá háit a bhfuil tú i do chónaí, is leatsa an teanga agus an cultúr Gaelach. Bímis Gaelach. Bímis Glórach. Bímis Glas,” a dúirt Catherine Martin.

Mhaígh Catherine Martin ina hóráid Ard-Fheise go raibh “athruithe seismeacha” á ndéanamh ag an gComhaontas Glas sa Rialtas i dtaobh cúrsaí sóisialta, eacnamaíochta agus athrú aeráide.

Dúirt ceannaire an pháirtí Eamon Ryan go raibh geilleagair ghlasa ag teacht chun cinn ar fud an domhain agus gurb é an botún is mó a d’fhéadfaí a dhéanamh ná gan tada a dhéanamh.
