Grúpa oibre le bunú ag Roinn na Gaeltachta chun dul i ngleic leis na fadhbanna a bhíonn ag tuismitheoirí a gclann a thógáil le Gaeilge

| Tuairisc.ie | , ,

Tá grúpa oibre nua le bunú ag Roinn na Gaeltachta chun plean a réiteach le dul i ngleic leis na fadhbanna a bhíonn ag tuismitheoirí sa Ghaeltacht a ngasúir a thógáil le Gaeilge.

Tá an grúpa, a bheidh faoi chathaoirleacht na Roinne, le bunú mar thoradh ar thaighde a rinneadh do Thuismitheoirí na Gaeltachta a léirigh nach bhfuil ach 23% de na teaghlaigh sa Ghaeltacht ag tógáil a bpáistí le Gaeilge.

Dúirt Aire Stáit na Gaeltachta Jack Chambers go mbeadh an chéad chruinniú ag an ngrúpa oibre “go luath”. Beidh ionadaithe ón Roinn, ó Údarás na Gaeltachta, ó Thuismitheoirí na Gaeltachta agus oifigigh pleanála teanga ar an ghrúpa.

Agus é ag freagairt ceist ón Teachta Dála Catherine Connolly, dúirt an tAire Stáit go bhféachfaí ar na moltaí sa taighde a rinneadh do Thuismitheoirí na Gaeltachta anuraidh agus go mbunófaí struchtúr chun na moltaí sin a chur i gcrích ar bhonn praiticiúil.

“Geallaim don Teachta agus don Teach go leanfaidh mé féin agus mo Roinn ag féachaint chuige go mbainfear an leas is fearr gur féidir as an gciste breise a bhí ar mo chumas a shlánú do 2022 don chlár tacaíochta pobal agus teanga agus don phróiseas pleanála teanga. Beidh sé chun leasa cur chun cinn na Gaeilge ar a n-áirítear an réimse teaghlaigh fud fad na Gaeltachta.”

Chuir an Teachta Connolly fáilte roimh an méid a bhí le rá ag an Aire Stáit Chambers ach dúirt sí go raibh baol ann “go mbeimid báite i gcoistí comhairliúcháin agus i gcoistí éagsúla”.

Mar fhreagra ar cheist eile ón Teachta Dála Connolly, dúirt an tAire Stáit go mbeadh an chéad chruinniú ag an ngrúpa oibre “i gceann cúpla seachtain”.

Dúirt an Teachta Dála de chuid Ghaillimh Thiar gur léirigh an taighde go bhfuil “géarchéim sa Ghaeltacht maidir le labhairt na teanga” agus go raibh “moltaí thar a bheith praiticiúil” ann. Thagair an Teachta Connolly do mholadh amháin go gcuirfí seirbhís ar fáil a chuideodh le tuismitheoirí feighlithe linbh a bhfuil Gaeilge acu a aimsiú.

Taighdeoirí ó Choláiste Mhuire gan Smál a rinne an taighde agus a scríobh an tuarascáil do Thuismitheoirí na Gaeltachta. Ar na moltaí eile a rinneadh inti, dúradh gur cheart taighde a dhéanamh ar na teaghlaigh nach labhraíonn Gaeilge sa bhaile, moladh ar ghlac Roinn na Gaeltachta leis ag an am.
