Tomi Ungerer – Rí na Maisitheoirí

Tomi Ungerer – Rí na Maisitheoirí

| Dáithí Anraí |

Bhí seoladh oifigiúii gCultúrlann McAdam Ó Fiaich don taispeántas ealaíne I gCuimhne ar a bhfuil RomhainnIs taispeántas é a dhéanann ceiliúradh ar shaol agus ar shaothar Tomi Ungerer a fuair bás in 2019. Tá 55 maisitheoir Éireannacha ag soláthar a saothar don taispeántas in ómós don ealaíontóir.

Ealaíontóir, maisitheoir agus scríbhneoir bisiúil ab ea Ungerer a bhfuil os cionn 140 leabhar foilsithe aige. I measc a chuid ealaíne bhí léaráidí do pháistí, póstaeir pholaitiúla níos conspóidí agus saothar ealaíne grinn aorach. Is iomaí ardmholadh agus gradam a bronnadh air, lena n-áirítear an gradam mór le rá, Duais Hans Christian Andersen

Tá a shaothar ina inspioráid do go leor scríbhneoirí agus maisitheoirí a léiríodh sa taispeántas a bhí ar siúl i nDánlann Dillon na Cultúrlainne. Thóg 55 maisitheoir píosa ealaíne ó shaothar Ungerer agus rinne siad é a athdhearadh ina stíl féin.

Seoladh an taispeántas i mBaile Átha Cliath ar dtús, áit a bhfaca Caitríona Nic Sheáin ó An tSnáthaid Mhór agus an maisitheoir Andrew Whitson atá ar bhord na n-ealaíontóirí an ealaín. I ndiaidh dóibh an taispeántas a fheiceáil, b’éigean dóibh é a thabhairt go Béal Feirste.

Thug Meon Eile cuairt ar an taispeántas agus labhair muid le Caitríona a phléigh Ungerer agus an tionchar síoraí a bhí aige ar na healaíona agus a litríocht.

Beidh an taispeántas ar na ballaí i nDánlann Dillon go dtí an 18 Aibreán.
