Aontas nua mac léinn á thógáil ag Ollscoil na Banríona

| 1 | ,

I mí Éanair 2020 cuireadh tús le hobair thógála ar aontas na mac léinn ag Ollscoil na Banríona. Ba lá brónach é do mhic léinn agus d’fhoireann na hollscoile nuair a leagadh an seanfhoirgneamh go talamh i ndiaidh 50 bliain. Druideadh an foirgneamh sin i mí Lúnasa 2018 i ndiaidh aispeist a bheith aimsithe ann agus bogadh na háiseanna go sealadach go hAscaill Choill an Leamháin, ach níl go leor spáis ann do na seirbhísí uilig a bhí sa seanfhoirgneamh.

Creideadh go mbeadh an foirgneamh nua críochnaithe roimh dheireadh 2021 ach, de dheasca na pandéime, is dócha go mbeidh ar lucht na hollscoile fanacht tamall eile. B’fhiú fanacht leis, áfach, agus áiseanna den chéad scoth le bheith ar fáil dóibh siúd a bheith ag freastal ar an ollscoil as seo amach. San áireamh, beidh spásanna sóisialta, seirbhísí agus oifigí na bhfeidhmeannach atá ar aontas na mac léinn chomh maith le seomraí cruinniúithe agus siopa an aontais.

Is léir gur imir seanfhoirgneamh na mac léinn tionchar mór ar an taithí ollscoile a bhí ag mic léinn i mBéal Feirste le 50 bliain anuas ach beidh an ról céanna ag an fhoirgneamh nua don chéad ghlúin eile de mhic léinn sa chathair.
