Líon na ndaltaí Gaelscoile sa Tuaisceart os cionn 7,000 den chéad uair

| Tuairisc.ie | ,

Den chéad uair riamh tá níos mó ná 7,000 dalta cláraithe i nGaelscoileanna an Tuaiscirt.

Agus na figiúirí nua á bhfógairt aige, dúirt Ciarán Mac Giolla Bhéin, Príomhfheidhmeannach Comhairle na Gaelscolaíochta, go raibh níos mó “suime ná riamh” sa ghaeloideachas.

Dúirt Mac Giolla Bhéin nár mhór don Roinn Oideachais agus na húdaráis eile “a bheith ullmhaithe” lena chinntiú nach mbeadh “aon bhac”  roimh a thuilleadh fáis san earnáil.

Dúirt sé gur “eiseamláir” í Gaelscoil Aodha Rua i nDún Geanainn den bhorradh atá tagtha faoi ngaelscolaíocht sa Tuaisceart.

Bunaíodh Gaelscoil Aodha Rua sa bhliain 2011, daichead bliain ó bunaíodh Bunscoil Phobal Feirste, an chéad Ghaelscoil sna sé chontae.

Dúirt Comhairle na Gaelscolaíochta nach raibh ach dosaen páiste i nGaelscoil Aodha Rua agus beirt ag obair inti nuair a bunaíodh í deich mbliana. 143 páiste ag freastal ar an scoil i mbliana agus tá 20 duine fostaithe inti.

Dúirt Móna Uí Dhochartaigh, Príomhoide Gaelscoil Aodha Rua, go bhfuil an scoil “i gcroílár na hathbheochana cultúrtha atá ag tarlú sa cheantar”.

“Bíonn na daltaí sáite i ngach gné den chultúr Ghaelach agus spreagaimid iad lena

mbuanna pearsanta uile a fhorbairt. Tá an t-éiteas saibhir cultúrtha seo le sonrú i mana na scoile, a deir go gcothaíonn an Gaeloideachas ‘nasc lenar ndúchas agus bua don todhchaí’,” arsa Móna Uí Dhochartaigh.
