Cinneadh le déanamh maidir le hainm OÉ Gaillimh a athrú

| Tuairisc.ie | ,

Tá cinneadh le déanamh go luath ag Ollscoil na hÉireann, Gaillimh maidir lena hainm a athrú.

Pléadh athrú a dhéanamh ar ainm agus branda na hOllscoile ag cruinniú d’údarás OÉ, Gaillimh inné.

Dúirt urlabhraí de chuid na hOllscoile le Tuairisc.ie i ndiaidh an chruinnithe sin nach raibh aon chinneadh déanta fós faoi na moltaí i dtaobh ainm Ollscoil na hÉireann, Gaillimh a athrú.

Tuigtear do Tuairisc.ie gur simpliú ar an ainm atá i gceist leis an athbhrandáil agus gur dócha go mbainfear amach an tagairt d’OÉ, Gaillimh/NUI Galway a bheith ina cuid d’Ollscoil na hÉireann, mar a rinne Ollscoil Mhá Nuad cheana.

Dúirt urlabhraí na hollscoile le Tuairisc.ie go mbeadh comhstádas ag an nGaeilge agus ag an mBéarla in aon athbhrandáil a dhéanfaí.

“Bíonn cúrsaí cumarsáide á bhforbairt go seasta ag an Ollscoil lena chinntiú go mbeidh siad ag freastal ar riachtanais eolais ár lucht spéise.

“Mar chuid den obair sin, d’aontaigh an Ollscoil próiseas comhairliúcháin inniu faoina branda. Níl aon chinneadh déanta faoi ainm na hollscoile. Tá tábhacht ar leith leis an nGaeilge anseo agus cinnteofar sa bpróiseas seo go mbeidh an seasamh céanna ag an nGaeilge agus ag an mBéarla sa mbrandáil.”
