Cás Ghaelscoil an Chaisleáin i gCorcaigh pléite sa Dáil

Pléadh sa Dáil inné “an brú” atá ar Ghaelscoil i gCorcaigh, atá ag feidhmiú i bhfoirgneamh sealadach ó bunaíodh an scoil in 2017.

An Teachta Dála de chuid Fhianna Fáil Aindrias Moynihan a tharraing aird ar chás Ghaelscoil an Chaisleáin, i mBaile an Chollaigh, atá “éirithe rómhór” don suíomh sealadach inar bunaíodh í.

Tá an Ghaelscoil ag feidhmiú i bhfoirgneamh atá ar cíos acu ó Chumann Rugbaí Bhaile an Chollaigh le ceithre bliana.

Deir lucht na Gaelscoile, atá i mbun feachtais ar son foirgneamh buan le tamall, go bhfágann an suíomh “teoranta agus sealadach” atá acu nach bhféadfaí freastal ar an “éileamh mór” atá ar an oideachas lán-Ghaeilge ag teaghlaigh óga sa cheantar.

Agus ceist á cur ag an Teachta Dála Moynihan ar an Aire Oideachais Norma Foley faoin scéal, dúirt sé go raibh “géarghá” le foirgneamh buan a aimsiú don Ghaelscoil toisc líon na ndaltaí a bheith ag dul i méid.

“Tá an Ghaelscoil i bhfoirgneamh sealadach ó 2017 agus tá sí éirithe rómhór don suíomh agus don phleanáil shealadach agus tá brú breise uirthi.”

Le linn an phlé, d’iarr Moynihan ar an Aire Oideachais cás na Gaelscoile “a bhogadh chun cinn go práinneach”.

Mar fhreagra ar an mhéid sin, dúirt an tAire Foley go raibh “gach iarracht” á déanamh ag an Roinn Oideachais suíomh nua a aimsiú do Ghaelscoil an Chaisleáin.

“Ceann de thosaíochtaí” na roinne é, a dúirt sí, suíomh feiliúnach a aimsiú don Ghaelscoil agus d’iarbhunscoil nua Bhéarla atá le hoscailt i mBaile an Chollaigh an fómhar seo.

Thug sí le fios go raibh dhá shuíomh don iarbhunscoil Bhéarla, Ag Foghlaim Le Chéile, á bhfiosrú ag an Roinn Oideachais, agus go bhféadfadh Gaelscoil an Chaisleáin agus an iarbhunscoil “campas a roinnt” ar cheann amháin de na suíomhanna sin.
