Cead tugtha ag an mBord Pleanála do chuarbhóthar na Gaillimhe

| Tuairisc.ie | , ,

Tá cead tugtha ag an mBord Pleanála do Chuarbhóthar na Gaillimhe.

Tá an bóthar nua – an N6 –  atá beartaithe le brú tráchta a laghdú sa Ghaillimh ceadaithe ag an mBord Pleanála ar roinnt coinníollacha.

Chuir Comhairle Chathair na Gaillimhe agus Bonneagar Iompair Éireann fáilte roimh an gcinneadh.

Dúirt Comhairle Chathair na Gaillimhe gur leigheas a bheadh sa bhóthar ar fhadhbanna tráchta agus go gcuirfeadh sé tuilleadh deiseanna fostaíochta ar fáil i gConamara.

Bóthar 18 ciliméadar a bheadh sa chuarbhóthar agus bheadh meascán ann de charrbhealach dúbailte agus bóithre aon lána. Rachadh sé ó mhótarbhealach an M6 taobh thoir den chathair go dtí láthair éigin laistiar de Bhearna i nGaeltacht Chonamara.

Dúradh i ráiteas ó Chomhairle Chathair na Gaillimhe tráthnóna gur dea-scéal a bhí i gcinneadh an Bhoird Pleanála do “na mílte duine” a bhíonn teanntaithe i dtrácht agus iad ag triall ar Ghaillimh “gach lá” don obair, nó don oideachas, do sheirbhísí leighis nó eile.

Dúradh go gcinnteodh an fhorbairt gur ‘tairseach an iarthair’ a bheadh sa Ghaillimh, go mbeadh sí ábalta dul in iomaíocht Luimneach, Corcaigh agus Port Láirge agus gur “rogha eile” a bheadh inti in Baile Átha Cliath agus oirthear na tíre.
