Príomhfheidhmeannach nua ceaptha ar an gComhairle um Oideachas Gaeltachta agus Gaelscolaíochta

| Tuairisc.ie | ,

Tá Jacqueline Ní Fhearghusa ceaptha ina Príomhfheidhmeannach ar an gComhairle um Oideachas Gaeltachta agus Gaelscolaíochta (COGG).

Tá sí ag teacht i gcomharbacht ar Mhuireann Ní Mhóráin a bhí ina ceann feadhna ar an eagraíocht ó bunaíodh í in 2002.

Cigire Gaeilge sa Roinn Oideachais í Jacqueline Ní Fhearghusa agus iarcheannasaí í ar an eagraíocht Gaelscoileanna.

Dúirt an tAire Oideachais Norma Foley go raibh áthas uirthi an ceapachán a fhógairt.

“Tá obair COGG lárnach maidir le comhlíonadh na ngealltanas oideachais sa Straitéis 20 Bliain don Ghaeilge. Braitheann éifeachtacht agus feidhmiú rathúil COGG go mór ar an gceannaireacht a sholáthraíonn an Príomhfheidhmeannach.”

Dúirt An tAire gur mhaith léi go mothódh cainteoirí Gaeilge go bhfuil siad ina “saoránaigh ghníomhacha” cumasacha agus “go mothódh daoine eile muiníneach go leor chun an Ghaeilge a úsáid ar bhonn rialta sa saol laethúil, san ionad oibre, agus sa phobal”.

“Faoi cheannaireacht Jacqueline, tá ról tábhachtach ag COGG maidir leis seo a bhaint amach laistigh den earnáil oideachais,” arsa an tAire Oideachais, Norma Foley.

Ghabh an tAire buíochas le Muireann Ní Mhóráin atá ag éirí as an obair mhór a rinne sí ar son na Gaeilge agus í ag obair le COGG.
