Learning Irish at 3rd Level:

There is a wide choice of courses for those wanting to learn Irish outside of their own degrees at third level, and often for staff members of the universities too.

Many of these courses offer a qualification in the language, or they give an opportunity to learners to prepare for the TEG (Teastas Eorpach Gaeilge) exam. This qualification is useful for those who want to improve their accuracy in the language or for those wishing to teach Irish in the future. TEG offers 8 different levels and this qualification is recognised not only around the country, but around Europe.
