An folús polaitiúil ag cothú deacrachtaí maoinithe d’Fhoras na Gaeilge arís roimh an mBuiséad

| Tuairisc.ie | ,

An folús polaitiúil ag cothú deacrachtaí maoinithe d’Fhoras na Gaeilge arís roimh an mBuiséad

Is cosúil nach mbeidh aon fhuascailt i mBuiséad 2024 an tseachtain seo chugainn ar na deacrachtaí maoinithe atá ag Foras na Gaeilge de bharr an fholúis pholaitiúil sa Tuaisceart.

Dúirt urlabhraí ó Roinn na Gaeltachta le Tuairisc gur mhaith leis an Rialtas tuilleadh maoinithe a chur ar fáil don Fhoras ach go raibh sin ag brath i gcónaí ar chúrsaí polaitíochta sa Tuaisceart.

“Dar ndóigh, ba bhreá leis na hAirí institiúidí an Rialtais sa tuaisceart a fheiceáil ag feidhmiú arís chomh luath in Éirinn agus is féidir chun a chur ar chumas an Rialtais ó dheas tuilleadh airgid a chur i dtreo an Fhorais Teanga.”

Tá an maoiniú a fhaigheann Foras na Gaeilge mórán mar a bhí 20 bliain ó shin. €16.3 milliún a bhí ag an eagraíocht in 2022, i gcomparáid le €17.2 milliún in 2003.

Fógraíodh €300,000 breise don Fhoras i mBuiséad 2023 ach níl aon athrú suntasach tagtha ar mhaoiniú an Fhorais le fada mar gheall ar chiorruithe agus cúrsaí polaitíochta in Stormont.

Ní féidir airgead breise a bhronnadh ar an bhForas Teanga – Foras na Gaeilge agus Gníomhaireacht na hUltaise – go dtí go mbeidh buiséad iomlán na n-eagraíochtaí aontaithe leis an Roinn Pobal ó thuaidh agus ní féidir sin a dhéanamh go dtí go mbeidh Stormont ag feidhmiú arís.

Do Chlár na Leabhar Gaeilge, a mhaoiníonn an Rialtas ó dheas amháin, a tugadh an €300,000 d’Fhoras na Gaeilge in 2023.

Deir Foras na Gaeilge go bhfuiltear ag iarraidh go gcuirfí buiséad bonnlíne na heagraíochta ar ais chuig leibhéal 2008, nuair a bhíodh €21 milliún san iomlán á chur ar fáil ag an dá rialtas dóibh.
