7 Instagram accounts for Irish Language learners to follow

These are some of the most lively and popular accounts on Instagram aimed at learners of Irish. Unsurprisingly, most of these accounts are set up by teachers and they use a mixture of Irish and English in their posts.

There are many other accounts that post in Irish and learners will undoubtedly come across these as they continue to use the platform regularly.

@irishwithmollie.  irishwithmollie began in 2022 and currently has 123k followers2. She shares images and videos explaining words, expressions, and grammar points, and discussing topics and issues related to the Irish language. She also offers Irish language courses.

@gaeilge_bheo. This account, which has been running since 2019, has around 31k followers. The author shares posts about Irish words, grammar points, proverbs and relevant stories of the day, in a clear and informal style.

@gaeilgesabhaile. This account has 28k followers, and seems to be aimed mostly at a younger audience, providing suitable vocabulary and pronunciation guides.

@gaeilge_i_mo_chroi.  This account was started in 2019 and has 24k followers. The author has an engaging personal style, and shares her views on the more confusing aspects of the language in a fresh and entertaining way.

@gaeilgevibes. One of the oldest accounts in this list, it was started in 2016 and has 22k followers. Like @gaeilge_i_mo_chroi, the author has a personal sharing style, disussing Irish words, expressions, grammar matters and sharing relevant experiences from her own life.

@cuplafocal. This account has almost 20k followers, sharing simple posts on topical vocabulary.

@peascaeasca. This account was started by a group of teachers in 2018 and now has more than 16k followers. They post on a wide range of language topics and devise entertaining memes involving news stories of the day.
