Scoil na Seolta le hoscailt i Meán Fómhair 2024

| Dáithí Anraí |

Tá Naíscoil na Seolta in Oirthear Bhéal Feirste ag súil le Gaelscoil nua, Scoil na Seolta, a bhunú i mí Mheán Fómhair na bliana seo.

Freastalaíonn thart ar 12 pháiste ar an Naíscoil faoi láthair agus tagann siad go léir as teaghlaigh atá ina gcónaí go háitiúil. Bhí an deis againn labhairt leis an tuismitheoir Natalie McDowell atá thar a bheith paiseanta faoin togra. Thosaigh Natalie agus a fear céile ag foghlaim Gaeilge thart ar thrí bliana ó shin ag Turas in Oirthear Bhéal Feirste. Creideann Natalie go bhfuil an chomhpháirtíocht le Turas an-tábhachtach don Naíscoil, go háirithe do na teaghlaigh nach bhfuil Gaeilge sa bhaile acu. Tá Natalie agus na tuismitheoirí an-bhuíoch ar fad as an tacaíocht atá ar fáil dóibh agus go bhfuil siad ábalta an Ghaeilge a fhoghlaim ag an am céanna lena bpáistí.

Labhair muid fosta le Bunaitheoir Naíscoil na Seolta, Linda Ervine, atá ina bainisteoir ar an eagraíocht Ghaeilge Turas, agus le Cathaoirleach na Naíscoile, Aodán Mac Seáfraidh, atá ina Oifigeach Oideachais ag Turas. Thug muid cuairt ar an Naíscoil an tseachain seo caite chomh maith agus labhair muid leis an stiúrthóir, Gearóidín Monroe, agus le duine de na cúntóirí, Caoimhe Nic Fhilib.

Deir Aodán linn: ” Sílim go bhfuil ceantar Oirthear Bhéal Feirste ag athrú de réir a chéile. Tá daoine ann ó thíortha eile, tá sé níos measctha ná mar a bhí sna blianta fada ó shin agus tá daoine níos dearfaí faoin Ghaeilge anois agus sílim go mbaineann sé sin le obair Turas. Mar a deir Linda i gcónaí, ‘We’re changing the narrative’. “

Thig le tuismitheoirí iarratas a dhéanamh anois le páistí s’acu a chlárú do Scoil na Seolta. Má tá spéis agat ann, is féidir dul i dteagmháil le Turas roimh an Aoine 26 Eanáir.
