an-39u-bliain-den-fheile-litriochta-cuirt-i-ngaillimh

An 39ú bliain den fhéile litríochta Cúirt i nGaillimh

Tá Gaillimh ag déanamh réidh do na sluaite agus an Fhéile Idirnáisiúnta Litríochta Cúirt ag pilleadh ar an chathair don 39ú bliain. Is “príomhghuth” don litríocht go hidirnáisiúnta agus ar fud na hÉireann í an fhéile, atá ar na féilte leabhar is fadbhunaithe san Eoraip. Reáchtálfar a lán imeachtaí idirghníomhacha i rith na féile idir an 23 agus an 28 Aibreán. Freastalóidh an clár ar dhaoine a bhfuil spéis acu san fhicsean agus sa neamhfhicsean, chomh maith le teaghlaigh agus páistí a chuireann suim sa scríbhneoireacht. Thairis sin ar fad, beidh imeachtaí Gaeilge agus imeachtaí dátheangacha do gach aoisghrúpa ann.

Beidh eagrán beo den phodchraoladh The Stinging Fly Podcast le Nicole Flattery agus Caoilinn Hughes ann chun aitheantas a thabhairt do leabhar úr Hughes, The Alternatives. Pléifidh Una Mannion agus Paul Murray (a bhfuil Leabhar Gaeilge na Bliana An Post buaite aige) a n-úrscéalta, The Bee Sting agus Tell Me What I Am, le Sinead Gleeson. Agus beidh Edel Coffey agus Ali Watkins ag comhrá agus an scéinséir In Her Place le Coffey faoi chaibidil acu.

Do léitheoirí a dtéann an neamhfhicsean i gcion orthu, beidh Clair Wills agus Molly Hennigan ag labhairt ar a leabhair úra, Missing Persons, Or My Grandmother’s Secret agus The Celestial Realm faoi seach. Chomh maith leis sin, déanfaidh siad plé ar an tráma idirghlúine, na hárais máithreacha is leanaí, agus an dóigh a gcaitheann stát na hÉireann le mná. Beidh Leon Diop agus Briana Fitzsimons ag déanamh ceiliúradh ar a leabhar ceannródaíoch Black & Irish a impíonn ar dhaoine meon frithchiníoch a ghlacadh. Nochtfaidh Jackie Uí Chionna an saol rúnda a bhí ag Emily Anderson fosta. As Gaillimh ó dhúchas, ba dhuine den triúr códscaoilteoirí baineanna is fearr ar domhan í Emily.

Más í an fhilíocht a thaitníonn leat, cluinfear aithriseoireacht dánta ó fhilí Éireannacha amhail Nick Laird, Leontia Flynn, Scott McKendry agus Emily Cooper chomh maith leis na filí idirnáisiúnta Lemn Sissay, Erika Meitner, agus Joey Connolly i measc roinnt eile. Cuirfear deireadh leis an fhéile le filíocht ó Rita Ann Higgins, Elaine Feeney, Susannah Dickey agus Jackie Kay.

Beidh an fhéile ag freastal ar na Gaeil freisin le himeacht dátheangach do pháistí bunaithe ar An Drúchtín agus An Seilide, an leabhar fileata le hOein DeBhairduin a chaomhnaíonn traidisiún scéalaíochta an Lucht Taistil. Tugann Richard O’Leary léiriú Gaeilge de Teenage Rebel in the GPO 1983 leis chuig Cúirt, scéal dochreidte ar nós finnscéal – ach fíor. Tabharfaidh cnuasach gearrscéalta Róise Ní Bhaoill, Imran an Other Stories, léitheoirí ar aistear Gaeilge agus cluinfear ó Dinnseanchas, saothar coimisiúnaithe nua le Mícheál Ó Ruairc agus Bríd Ní Mhóráin.

Beidh an fhéile ar siúl idir an 23-28 Aibreán. Is féidir ticéad a cheannach anseo.
