Zappone le moladh go dtabharfaí ‘bronntanas na Gaeilge’ do gach páiste a scrúdú

Tá an tAire Leanaí chun plé a dhéanamh lena hoifigigh faoi mholadh go mbronnfaí ar gach gasúr sa chóras réamhscoile “bronntanas na Gaeilge”.

Thug an tAire Katherine Zappone an méid sin le fios i ndiaidh di cás na Gaeilge sa chóras réamhscolaíochta a phlé leis an Teachta Dála de chuid Fhianna Fáil, Éamon Ó Cuív.

Dúirt Ó Cuív gur “ceart bunúsach” é go mbeadh réamhscolaíocht trí Ghaeilge ar fáil do thuismitheoirí atá ag tógáil a bpáistí le Gaeilge nó a roghnaíonn naíonra lán-Ghaeilge dóibh, ach gur chóir smaoineamh chomh maith ar an uile thuismitheoir eile sa tír.

“Dá ndéarfaimis le tuismitheoirí go bhféadfaimis bronntanas an dara teanga a thabhairt saor in aisce dá leanaí, a shealbhóidh go nádúrtha an teanga sin, bheadh 85% nó 90% acu an-sásta leis sin.

“Ní bhíonn aon fhadhb ag gasúir óga leis seo. Éiríonn siad an-chumasach le teangacha nuair a bhíonn taithí acu ar an dá theanga. Cén fáth nach bhfuilimid ag smaoineamh ar an bpictiúr mór, nó ag smaoineamh lasmuigh de bhosca? D’fhéadfaimis an bronntanas is fearr uilig a thabhairt saor in aisce dár ngasúir, agus ní bheadh le déanamh ach nathanna beaga agus rannta a spreagadh,” arsa an t-iar-aire Gaeltachta Éamon Ó Cuív.

Mar fhreagra ar an méid sin dúirt an tAire Leanaí Katherine Zappone go raibh moladh ábhartha sa tuarascáil faoin réamhscolaíocht Ghaeltachta a d’fhoilsigh Coiste Oireachtais na Gaeilge le déanaí.

Moladh sa tuarascáil sin go gcruthófaí tuilleadh post sa Roinn Oideachais chun an réamhscolaíocht trí Ghaeilge a fhorbairt laistigh agus lasmuigh den Ghaeltacht.

Dúirt Zappone go bpléifeadh sí “moladh soiléir” Uí Chuív le lucht a roinne agus thug sí le fios gur aontaigh sí féin leis an moladh.
