Scríbhneoir NÓS ar a rothar ar son an Kerry Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre

Beidh an file aitheanta, agus scríbhneoir rialta le NÓS, Ciara Ní É sa diallait i gceann coicíse agus í ag tabhairt faoi Mhórchuaird Chiarraí ar a rothar ar mhaithe leis an Kerry Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre.

Mórthuras 175km timpeall Uíbh Ráthach atá i gceist le The Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle agus beidh Ciara s’againne i measc 8,000 rothaí a bheidh ar bhóithre Chiarraí Dé Sathairn an 6 Iúil.

Tá beagnach €400 dá sprioc €700 bailithe ag Ciara cheana féin agus súil aici an €300 deireanach a aimsiú sna laethanta amach romhainn.

Ag labhairt di le NÓS,  dúirt Ciara gur bheartaigh sí tabhairt faoin dúshlán mór rothaíochta an samhradh seo i ndiaidh di seal a chaitheamh in iarthar Chiarraí i mí Feabhra.

“Rothaíocht 175km timpeall tírdhreach álainn Ciarraí – neamh nó ifreann? Neamh, a bhraith mé siar i mí na Feabhra agus mé ag breathnú amach fuinneog an chairr, muid ag tiomáint go mín éasca suas síos cnoic Chiarraí agus an ghrian ag dul faoi. Chláraigh mé don Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle go luath i ndiaidh sin, tar éis dom gríosadh a fháil ó roinnt rothaithe a rinne cheana é.

“Níl tiomáint agam agus tá an rothar céanna agam le blianta fada anois, mo Dawes Galaxy álainn. Níor chlis sé orm go dtí seo, agus tá súil agam nach mbainfí dó ar an turas i gceann coicíse. Táim tar éis a bheith ag traenáil — méid is mó atá déanta agam ná 120km in aon gheábh. Cabhraíonn sé go mór go bhfuil bríste gearra speisialta ceannaithe agam — na cinn a bhfuil tóin stuáilte orthu!” a dúirt sí.

Cabhróidh an t-airgead a bhaileoidh Ciara le The Kerry Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre feidhmiú i gCiarraí Theas chomh maith le Clár Comhthola a bhunú i scoileanna dara leibhéal sa gcontae.

“Tá seirbhísí mar  sin ríthábhachtach, agus táim bródúil as a bheith ag bailiú ar a son. Chuala le déanaí scéal ón taobh sin tíre faoi bhean ghnaíúil a sheas an fhód ar son daoine a bhí thíos le drochíde den sórt sin. Chuaigh a gníomh cróga go croí ionam agus sin an fáth gur roghnaíos an carthanacht áirithe seo. Táim fíorbhuíoch as gach síntiús a tugadh don charthanach trí mo leathanach go dtí seo,” a dúirt sí.

Is féidir airgead a thabhairt do Chiara ar an leathanach seo, agus tá lucht eagraithe an turais mhóir ag lorg maor agus oibrithe deonacha eile i gcónaí. Tá tuilleadh eolais faoi sin ar fáil anseo.
