Easpa Gaeilge ghradaim ‘Gaisce’ an Uachtaráin cáinte

Tá Gaisce, eagras ghradaim an Uachtaráin, á cháineadh go géar faoi láthair mar gheall ar a easpa Gaeilge, ach d’fhéadfadh nach mbeidh aon rogha ag an eagras sula fada ach níos mó airde a thabhairt ar an teanga.

Tá Gaisce ar liosta breis is dhá scór comhlacht i bpíosa reachtaíochta nua ar aontaíodh sa Dáil an tseachtain seo caite í a chur ar aghaidh go dtí an chéad chéim eile.

Má ghlactar leis an reachtaíocht sin tiocfaidh Gaisce agus comhlachtaí eile faoi scáth na reachtaíochta teanga den chéad uair.

Seo an chéad uair le 13 bliain go bhfuil uasdátú á dhéanamh ar liosta na gcomhlachtaí poiblí a thagann faoi scáth Acht na dTeangacha Oifigiúla.

Rinneadh cáineadh ar na meáin shóisialta ar an eagras a bhronnann gradaim an Uachtaráin ar dhaoine óga mar gheall nach dtugtar rogha do dhaoine i dtaobh na Gaeilge agus as cáipéisí i mBéarla amháin a scaipeadh sa Ghaeltacht.

Agus an suíomh go hiomlán as Béarla chomh maith. An ghnáthráiméis uathu nuair a d’fhiosraíomar é. https://t.co/ZniKJ13CiQ

Mar fhreagra ar an gcáineadh sin dúirt lucht Gaisce go raibh sé i gceist a acu a gcuid seirbhísí a chur ar fáil i dteangacha eile agus go mbeadh an Ghaeilge ar an gcéad teanga acusan.

Dúirt Gaisce chomh maith go raibh siad i dteagmháil le Foras na Gaeilge faoi aistriúchán a dhéanamh ar ábhar dá gcuid agus go raibh súil acu an t-ábhar sin a bheith ar fáil faoi cheann roinnt míonna.

Seo an freagra (príobháideach)a fuair mé inné ó @GaisceAward ar mo tuít. Díomá orm nach bhfuil sé de chiall, de bhéasaí ná de ghairmiúlacht acu mé a fhreagairt sa teanga a d’úsáid mé leo. 34 bliain ar an fhód agus ní thuigeann siad go fóill go bhfuil dhá theanga oifigiúla againn. pic.twitter.com/WHdob0KnEZ
