Fear a bhásaigh i ndiaidh eachtra i mBaile na hAbhann i gConamara ainmnithe

| Tuairisc.ie | , ,

Tá comhad á ullmhú ag na Gardaí don Stiúrthóir Ionchúiseamh Poiblí maidir le bás fir i mBaile na hAbhann i nGaeltacht Chonamara ag an deireadh seachtaine.

Ainmníodh go háitiúil an té a bhásaigh mar Charles Townsend, óistéapat a bhí sna seascaidí agus a raibh seoladh aige san Inneoin i mBaile Easa Dara i gcontae Shligigh.

Scaoileadh saor gan aon chúis a bheith curtha ina leith fear, seachtó bliain d’aois, a bhí á cheistiú i stáisiún na nGardaí sa Ghaillimh ó mhaidin inné.

Dheimhnigh na Gardaí tráthnóna inné go raibh tús curtha acu le fiosrúchán faoi bhás an fhir i gConamara.

Dúradh gur bhásaigh fear i ndiaidh eachtra a tharla i dteach i gConamara.

Go gairid i ndiaidh 9am maidin inné cuireadh fios ar na Gardaí teacht go dtí an teach i mBaile na hAbhann, mar a raibh cóir leighis á cur ag lucht sheirbhís otharchairr Chonamara ar an bhfear a líomhnaítear gur deineadh ionsaí air.

Tugadh an fear go dtí Ospidéal na hOllscoile, Gaillimh, agus fuair sé bás ansin níos déanaí.

Dúirt na Gardaí inné go raibh “gach gné” den eachtra á bhfiosrú ag Gardaí Bhóthar na Trá agus go raibh an láthair á caomhnú do Bhiúró Teicniúil an Gharda Síochána a dhéanfaidh í a scrúdú.

Coinníodh an fear a gabhadh i stáisiún na nGardaí sa Ghaillimh faoin Acht Um Cheartas Coiriúil 1984, nó gur scaoileadh saor inniu air.

Cuireadh an cróinéir áitiúil ar an eolas faoin scéal agus cuireadh fios ar Phaiteolaí an Stáit.

Dúirt na Gardaí gur scrúdú iarbháis a shocródh cén cúrsa a leanfadh a bhfiosrúchán.

Thug na Gardaí atá i mbun an fhiosraithe le fios go raibh “treo cinnte” á leanúint acu maidir lena gcuid fiosruithe.
