Buiséad Fhoras na Gaeilge le plé den chéad uair le ceithre bliana

| Tuairisc.ie |

Tá ceist bhuiséad Fhoras na Gaeilge le plé inniu den chéad uair le ceithre bliana.

Pléifear buiséad na heagraíochta teanga inniu ag cruinniú den Chomhairle Aireachta Thuaidh/Theas i mBaile Átha Cliath.

An CATT a cheadaíonn buiséad an Fhorais ach ó tharla nach raibh aon chruinniú acu ó lár 2016 de bharr na sáinne polaitiúla, níor tháinig aon ardú ar bhuiséad na heagraíochta teanga le ceithre bliana anuas.

Dúirt an tAire Meán, Turasóireachta, Ealaíon, Cultúir, Spóirt agus Gaeltachta Catherine Martin le déanaí “go bpléifear gach gné de chúrsaí oibre an Fhorais Teanga, buiséad san áireamh” ag cruinniú an lae inniu den Chomhairle Aireachta Thuaidh/Theas.

Cuireann Roinn na Gaeltachta 75% dá mhaoiniú ar fáil don Fhoras Teanga agus tagann an 25% eile ón Roinn Pobal ó thuaidh.

€11.08 milliún a cheadaigh Roinn na Gaeltachta d’Fhoras na Gaeilge don bhliain 2020. Chomh maith leis sin, chuir an Roinn €1.06 milliún ar fáil don Fhoras do Chlár na Leabhar Gaeilge agus beagnach €118,000 breise a fuarthas do Cholmcille.

Tá ráite ag Catherine Martin agus Aire Stáit na Gaeltachta Jack Chambers go ndéanfaidh siad a ndícheall tuilleadh maoinithe a fháil do chiste na Gaeilge agus na Gaeltachta.

Ciorruithe den chuid is mó a bhí i ndán do chiste na Gaeilge, na Gaeltachta agus na n-oileán le deich mbliana anuas.

Pléifear chomh maith ag cruinniú an lae inniu an cur chuige atá ag na húdaráis ar an dá thaobh den teorainn i leith an choróinvíris agus na srianta taistil éagsúla atá i bhfeidhm. Tá srianta taistil níos déine i bhfeidhm ó dheas.
