Bliain na Céime ón Bhaile

Is tréimhse speisialta í an Ollscoil do mhac léann ar bith agus de ghnáth bíonn bliain na céime ar an bhliain is dúshlánaí gan trácht ar phandéim domhanda ag dul ar aghaidh ag an am céanna. Labhair Meon Eile le mac léann amháin atá ag tabhairt faoi bhliain na céime ón bhaile le fáil amach faoina héispéireas go dtí seo.

Tá Erin Ní Bhroin i mbliain na céime ag déanamh stáidéir ar an Ghaeilge agus Léann an Aistriúcháin in Ollscoil na hÉireann, Gaillimh. Is ón bhaile i Sleacht Néill, Contae Dhoire atá Erin ag dul dá bliain dheireanach den chúrsa sna Dána, áfach. Tá gach rang anois ar líne don chéad seimeastar agus mar sin, bheartaigh sí fanacht sa bhaile, ceithre uair sa charr ar shiúl ó chathair na dTreabh.

Míníonn Erin san fhíseán na buntáistí agus míbhuntáistí a bhaineann leis an chinniú seo chun fanacht sa bhaile ó Thuaidh. Ar ndóigh, tá sí ag sabháil airgid toisc nach gá di cíos a íoc agus níl sí ag caitheamh an méid céanna airgid anois cibé mar gheall ar na srianta Covid-19. Is maith léi go bhfuil a teaghlach cóngarach agus go bhfuil tírdhreach galánta an bhaile i gCarn Tóchair thart uirthi fosta.

Deir sí, áfach, go bhfuil an cúrsa é féin dúshlánach go leor ar líne. Ní féidir léi ceisteanna a chur ar dhaoine eile chomh furast is a bhí sí in ann sa rang, an léachtóir agus a chomhghleacaithe san áireamh. Cronaíonn sí saol na hOllscoile fosta agus an saoirse atá ag baint leis, bíonn dualgais eile uirthi sa bhaile maidir lena teaghlach, ar nós an dinnéar a cheannach.

Is léir nach raibh Erin ag súil le bliain na céime a dhéanamh sa bhaile ach tá sí ag dul i ngleic leis cosúil le gach duine eile atá ag dul i ngleic le Covid-19. Go n-éirí léi!
