€5,000,000 curtha ar fáil do bhealaí glasa i nGaeltacht na Gaillimhe

| NÓS Suíomh Gréasáin |

Fógraíodh ar maidin gur ón rialtas a thiocfaidh €63.5m do bhealaí glasa ar fud na tíre agus an riail go gcaithfidh na comhairlí contae agus cathrach cuid den mhaoiniú a chur ar fáil curtha ar leataobh mar gheall ar an bpaindéim.

Fágann sé sin go dtabharfaidh an Roinn Iompair maoiniú €5,000,000 do thogra na mbealaí glasa i nGaeltacht na Gaillimhe. Maoiniú €3,350,000 atá geallta don bhealach glas idir an Clochán, i bhfíor-iarthar na Gaillimhe agus an baile beag Gaeltachta Sraith Salach.  Cuirfear €1,800,000 ar fáil don bhealach glas idir cathair na Gaillimhe agus an baile Gaeltachta Maigh Cuilinn ar bhruach Loch Coirib.

Dúirt an tAire Stáit Hildegarde Naughton, a toghadh ina Teachta Dála do Ghaillimh Thiar, go gcabhróidh an t-infheistiú a fógraíodh inniu “timpeallacht shábháilte agus inbhuanaithe” a chruthú don taisteal aclaí i sráidbhailte, bailte agus cathracha na tíre.

“Níl sé ach ina thús, coinneoidh muid orainn ag tógáil ar an infheistíocht seo sna blianta amach romhainn,” a dúirt an tAire Stáit.

Níor luadh an bealach glas atáthar a iarraidh ó Bhearna go Gaillimh trí Chnoc na Cathrach agus Bóthar na Trá sa bhfógra a rinneadh ar maidin, agus cé go bhfuil airgead mór luaite leis an síneadh atá le cur le Rian Glas na nDéise ó Phort Láirge soir go contae Loch Garman, níl aon chaint ar shíneadh ar an taobh thiar den Rian Glas a thabharfadh níos gaire do Ghaeltacht na nDéise é.
