3,903 cás nua den choróinvíreas fógartha, ‘meabhrú soiléir’ ar a thógálaí is atá an galar

| Tuairisc.ie | , ,

3,903 cás eile den Covid-19 a d’fhógair an Roinn Sláinte tráthnóna.

463 othar atá buailte ag an ngalar atá sna hospidéil, cúigear níos mó ná mar a bhí i gceist inné. Tá 76 díobhsan in aonad dianchúraim, 14 níos lú ná mar a bhí i gceist inné.

Dúirt an Príomhoifigeach Leighis, an Dr Tony Holohan, gur “meabhrú soiléir” atá i bhfigiúirí an lae inniu faoina thógálaí is atá an galar.

D’fhógair Roinn Sláinte an Tuaiscirt inniu go raibh ceathrar eile a raibh an Covid-19 orthu tar éis bháis. 1,164 cás nua a fógraíodh.

380 othar Covid-19 atá in ospidéil an Tuaiscirt agus 43 díobhsan atá in aonad dianchúraim.

Dúirt an Tánaiste Leo Varadkar ar Morning Ireland ar RTÉ maidin inniu  go raibh cúrsaí an ghalair “leochaileach ach seasmhach”.

“Feicfimid thart ar 4,000 cás á bhfógairt inniu nó amárach. An treo sin atá cúrsaí ag dul agus tá riaráiste cásanna neamhdheimhnithe ann chomh maith,” arsa an Tánaiste.

Dúirt sé nach bhféadfaí a thuilleadh srianta a chur as an áireamh.

“Bheadh sé místuama sin a dhéanamh ach is féidir liom a rá nach bhfuil sé i gceist againn srianta a chur i bhfeidhm arís roimh an Nollaig agus go bhfuilimid den tuairim nach mbeidh gá lena leithéid.”

Idir an dá linn, titim bheag a bhí ar líon na gcásanna den Covid-19 i gCorca Dhuibhne le coicís ach tá cúrsaí imithe in olcas i gConamara.

Dheimhnigh Feidhmeannacht na Seirbhíse Sláinte inniu go mbeifear ag tosú ag dul i dteagmháil leis an daoine atá os cionn 60 bliain d’aois chun vacsaín bhreise a thairiscint dóibh, teanndáileog mar a thugtar uirthi.
