Oidhreacht Ghaelach Bhéal Feirste

‘Oidhreacht Ghaelach Bhéal Feirste’ – Léacht agus Turas Treoraithe ag Ollscoil na Banríona leis an Ollamh Fionntán de Brún

| Dáithí Anraí |

Reáchtáladh clár imeachtaí leathan do Sheachtain na Gaeilge ag Ollscoil na Banríona i mbliana, a bhfuil turas treoraithe thart ar an ollscoil air. Tugadh cuireadh don Ollamh atá ina scríbhneoir aitheanta fosta, an Dr Fionntán de Brún, cur i láthair agus turas treoraithe a éascú thart ar Ollscoil na Banríona.

Bhí an t-imeacht dírithe ar oidhreacht Ghaelach Bhéal Feirste, agus ar Robert Shipboy McAdam agus athbheochan na Gaeilge sa chathair san 19ú haois go háirithe. Phléigh an Dr de Brún stair shaibhir logainmneacha na cathrach agus iad ar an turas treoraithe ar champas na hollscoile agus an ceantar mórthimpeall.

Chuir sé béim ar fhás agus ar fhorbairt na Gaeilge ón 20ú haois ar aghaidh le linn an turais. Chuir sé le fios gurb é toradh na bhforbairtí sin é dul chun cinn na teanga i mBéal Feirste sa lá atá inniu ann.

Agus slua mór ar an imeacht spéisiúil seo, fuair Meon Eile deis labhartha leis an Dr Fionntán de Brún agus le hOifigeach Tacaíochta Teanga na hollscoile, Mark Harte, a d’eagraigh an ócáid.
