Seán Mac Goill – Ómós

| Dáithí Anraí |

Baineadh siar as Gaeil Bhéal Feirste agus as an phobal níos leithne nuair a fuair Seán Mac Goill bás ar an séú lá de mhí Aibreáin 2024 agus é 90 bliain d’aois.

Seoladh leabhar i gColáiste Feirste roimh an Nollaig le ceiliúradh agus comóradh a dhéanamh ar shaol agus ar shaothar Sheáin, dar teideal “Tógáil Croí: Seán Mac Goill Saol Feirsteach”. Bhí Seán é féin i láthair ag an seoladh leabhair. Bhí Meon Eile ar an ócáid fosta agus is féidir amharc ar an mhír anseo.

Labhair muid le scríbhneoir agus maisitheoir an leabhair, Seán Mistéil, le mac Sheáin, Ciarán Mac Goill, a oibríonn mar ailtire agus atá ar an bhord ag Forbairt Feirste, chomh maith le stiúrthóir Iontaobhas na Gaelscolaíochta, Pilib Ó Ruanaidh.

Bhuail muid le stiúrthóir Glór na Móna, an Dr Feargal Mac Ionnrachtaigh agus le stiúrthóir Forbairt Feirste, Jake Mac Siacais fosta.

D’oibrigh Seán agus a chomhghleacaithe, mar atá Séamus Mac Seáin, Seán Mac Seáin agus eile, ar neart tograí ríthábhachtacha thar na blianta agus i rith na dTrioblóidí go háirithe; tograí de chuid Whiterock Industrial Enterprises, ar thithe Bhaile Uí Mhurchú, eastát Bhóthar na Carraige Báine agus atógáil Shráid Bombay. Bhí fís agus cruthaitheacht ar leith ag na fir seo agus ba léir a ndíograis i leith difear a dhéanamh do thodhchaí an phobail.

Is cinnte go bhfuil poll mór fágtha i saol na nGael, go háirithe in iarthar Bhéal Feirste, ach is cinnte go mairfidh oidhreacht Sheáin Mhic Goill go deo agus go dtógfaidh an ghlúin óg spreagadh ó shaothar a shaoil chun aislingí dá gcuid féin a bhaint amach.

Ba mhaith linn comhbhrón ó chroí a dhéanamh le teaghlach agus le gaolta Sheáin agus lena chairde ar fad.
