For Seachtain Na Gaeilge Dr. Padraig Óg O'Rourke will deliver a bilingual lecture (English and Irish) about the various attempts to suppress the Irish language throughout our history.

Pádraig is originally from Co. Clare. His first book was 'Blood on the Banner: The Republican Struggle in Clare 1913–1923' and he has contributed to Mercier's Military History of the Irish Civil War series with 'The Battle for Limerick City'. He works for the OPW in Newcastlewest and has been an Irish language advocate for two decades.
