Cinneadh déanta ag cumann rugbaí gan ionad spóirt a fhorbairt sa Ghaeltacht

Tá cinneadh déanta ag cumann rugbaí i nGaillimh gan dul ar aghaidh le hionad spóirt a fhorbairt sa Ghaeltacht.

D’fhógair Galwegians anuraidh go raibh sé i gceist acu páirceanna nua agus go leor áiseanna eile a fhorbairt ar shuíomh i mBuaile na Sruthán, ó thuaidh de Bhearna i gConamara.

Dhá pháirc féir lánmhéide, páirc lánmhéide 3g agus páirc haca a bhí le tógáil de réir na bpleananna a bhí ag Galwegians, chomh maith le raon reatha, páirc spraoi, clubtheach agus carrchlós ina mbeadh breis agus 200 spás.

Chuir an cumann isteach ar chead pleanála ó Chomhairle Chontae na Gaillimhe mí na Nollag seo caite ach bhí daoine atá ina gcónaí sa cheantar glan in aghaidh na forbartha.

Fuair an Chomhairle os cionn 30 aighneacht maidir leis an gcead pleanála agus bhí a bhformhór i gcoinne cead pleanála a thabhairt.

Fadhbanna le trácht, le torann agus le truailliú solais is mó a luadh sna haighneachtaí i gcoinne na forbartha ach luadh chomh maith nach raibh tagairt ar bith déanta ag Galwegians don Ghaeilge ná don Ghaeltacht sna pleananna, cé go bhfuil an suíomh lonnaithe i gceantar Gaeltachta.

Is iad Cumann Haca na Gaillimhe an t-aon dream a chuir aighneacht isteach ag tacú leis an togra.

D’iarr Comhairle Chontae na Gaillimhe ar Galwegians luath san athbhliain tuilleadh eolais a chur ar fáil dóibh maidir leis an iarratas ach tá cinneadh déanta ag an gcumann rugbaí gan dul ar aghaidh leis an bhforbairt agus tá an t-iarratas ar chead pleanála tarraingthe siar acu.
