Oidhreacht Cholm Cille le plé go fíorúil ag Scoil Gheimhridh Merriman an tseachtain seo

| Tuairisc.ie | ,

Déanfar comóradh ar shaolú Naomh Colm Cille 1,500 bliain ó shin mar chuid de Scoil Gheimhridh Merriman i mbliana.

Is í ‘Oidhreacht Cholm Cille’ an téama atá ann i mbliana agus imeachtaí na Scoile á reáchtáil ar líne.

Pléifear ionad an naoimh sa stair agus i dtraidisiún na muintire agus cíorfar raon leathan ábhar a bhaineann le cúrsaí teanga, oidhreachta agus cultúir.

Cuirfear tús le Scoil Gheimhridh Merriman Dé hAoine beag seo, an 29 Eanáir, agus beidh imeachtaí ar siúl idir sin agus maidin Dé Domhnaigh.

Beidh an tOllamh Lillis Ó Laoire, an tOllamh Máirín Ní Dhonnchadha, an Dr Pádraig Ó Mianáin, an Dr Eibhlín Mhic Aoidh, Pól Ó Frighil, Ciarán Ó Cofaigh, an tOllamh Alan Titley, Liam Ó Dochartaigh, Proinsias Mac a’ Bhaird agus an Dr Ailbhe Ní Ghearbhuigh i measc rannpháirtithe na Scoile.

Beidh cainteanna, agallaimh, léamha filíochta agus próis ar siúl agus tabharfar daoine ar thuras fíorúil thart ar láithreacha a bhaineann le Colm Cille i gCeanannas na Mí.

Beidh na himeachtaí ar fad saor in aisce.

Tá Colm Cille ar dhuine de Thríonóid na nGael, in éineacht le Bríd agus Pádraig, agus tá go leor seanchais faoi fós beo in Éirinn agus in Albain.

Is le contae Dhún na nGall agus le Gaeltacht Dhún na nGall go háirithe is mó a luaitear Colm Cille go dtí an lá inniu.

Ach tá dáimh ag muintir Ghaeltacht Chonamara agus Árann leis freisin agus déantar a phátrún a cheiliúradh ar an 9 Meitheamh i gceantar Chois Fharraige chomh maith le Gleann Cholm Cille.
