Bua mór na gcomharthaí Gaeilge agus an graifítí ina gcoinne

| 1 |

Bua mór a bhí ann do phobal na Gaeilge nuair a tháinig athrú ar pholasaí Chomhairle Cathrach Bhéal Feirste ó thaobh sráidainmneacha Gaeilge de ag tús na bliana.

Roimhe seo, bheadh ar 66% de chónaitheoirí sráide a bheidh ar son comharthaíocht dhátheangach le go gcuirfí in airde í ach íslíodh an céatadán sin go 15% le déanaí.

Ní gach duine a bhí sásta áfach agus cuireadh graifítí frith-Ghaeilge ar bhalla in Oirthear Bhéal Feirste i gcoinne an athraithe seo.

Chomh maith leis sin, chuir Michael Cooper, comhairleoir de chuid Shinn Féin, rún os comhair Chomhairle Chathair Dhoire agus Cheantar an tSratha Báin ag moladh go ndéanfaí amhlaidh ansin ó thaobh comharthaíocht dhátheangach de. Agus mar an gcéanna lena gcuid polaiteoirí i mBéal Feirste, ní raibh an DUP i nDoire sásta leis an moladh sin ach oiread.

Labhair Meon Eile le Pilib Ó Rúnaí ó Iontaobhas na Gaelscolaíochta i mBéal Feirste agus le Michael Cooper i nDoire faoin tábhacht a bhaineann leis an chomharthaíocht agus faoin aisfhreagra atá faighte aige.
