SnaG le seoladh ag Mícheál D Ó hUigínn anocht

Seolfaidh an tUachtarán Mícheál D Ó hUigínn Seachtain na Gaeilge go hoifigiúil anocht ag ócáid ag reáchtálfar ar leathanach Facebook na féile ag 20.00.

Beidh an fhéile ar siúl in Éirinn agus ar fud an domhain as seo go dtí Lá Fhéile Pádraig, ainneoin na paindéime, agus tá súil ag lucht a heagraithe spéis sa teanga a spreagadh lena linn.

I ndiaidh don Uachtarán an fhéile a sheoladh go hoifigiúil, cuirfidh Niamh Ní Chróinín, bainisteoir Raidió Rí Rá, ambasadóirí Sheachtain na Gaeilge faoi agallamh.

Ar dhuine de na hambasadóirí sin tá an t-amhránaí aitheanta as Saoirsí Bhaile Átha Cliath Imelda May. Eisíodh dán dátheangach de chuid Imelda faoin nGaeilge aréir le tús a chur le Seachtain na Gaeilge.

Dúirt Imelda gur mhaith léi a bheith ina hambasadóir “do dhaoine cosúil [léi] féin, iad siúd a raibh deacracht acu leis an nGaeilge san am atá caite, ach a bhfuil an-spéis acu tuilleadh a fhoghlaim faoin teanga.”

“Ba mhaith liom cuireadh a thabhairt do dhaoine teacht liom ar m’aistear leis an teanga, tógáil ar an muinín atá acu agus úsáid a bhaint as cibé Gaeilge atá acu gan a bheith buartha faoi bhotúin a dhéanamh,” a dúirt sí.

Tá clár mór imeachtaí curtha le chéile ag na céadta grúpaí timpeall an domhain do Sheachtain na Gaeilge. Beidh a fhormhór mór acu ar siúl ar líne i mbliana mar gheall ar scaipeadh an víris chorónaigh. Féadfar an Clár a fheiceáil anseo ar shuíomh oifigiúil na féile.
